Default Rear Axle Brace v1

After going through her at Saturday afternoon for Sunday's GTG, I notaced that the Losi stainless steel rear axle got bent durring her maiden run. (I just joined the Losi Stainless Steel bent acxle club.. And THATS NOT GOOD..) So I had to design and make a rear axle brace in hopes that this would be the last axle to get bent. After spending the night in the shop and pissing off my neighbors, the Rear Axle Brace v1 was born.

A bit over kill but with all the tumbling during yesterdays GTG the brace held up and keeped the axles from beding. I'm thinking of putting the brace on a diet for v2. Sorry for the bad close ups.:-(

That brace was beefy!!!

Truck looked pretty good on the rocks. I'm sure you will have it dialed in no time.

Last minute mod before yesterdays comp by lowering belly clearance to ~2.125" using 3racing's RC18T shocks. She did OK durring yesterdays comp so its a keeper for now. Need to work on my neglected 2.2 rig.

New shock setup looks good Joe!

I bet no leaks either

Sounds like the 3Racing 18T shocks worked out for ya.

So how did you do yesterday?

IMO the shocks is a keeper.. Just a bit more tweking (oil/springs).. And like you said, NO LEAKS.. Now I don't know what to do with the aluminum Losi shock set that I purchased that leaked the first day out.. LOSE MONEY :(

Thanks Xtant.. Even though I bitched and moaned about the SlingShot chassis hardware and instruction issue, overall my 1.9er with the SS chassis did alot beter than I expected with my poor driving skills (see my 2.2 score).. Now I need to work out the bugs out of my 2.2..

Shoots.. gang

Does that steering mod only work w/ the full size servo? Can you give me a little clearer close up of that steering setup? Killer Rig man!

Thanks.. I like the steering mod and I think it should work with the stock set-up with the only thing I can think of is access to the screw that connects the upper link to the axle.. This is the best I can do as far as pics.. Hope this helps..

Also see SicksAreR's thread.. Thats where I got the idea.. He's my hero..
