Unfortunately, I won't have my rig together before I move next week. I really wanted to get a chance to crawl at this place that's right down the street from where I'm at now, but time is not on my side. I'm going to at least get some pictures up for all you to drool over though, and someday I will definitely return to do some crawling at this place. It's top notch and oh-so-classy. Hopefully pics tonight (this post is a reminder to myself to get out there and snap some)

which time zone is Michigan in ?

I've been involved with several and also had my own forums before. Unfortunately smaller geographic forums don't have much success. You'll get more exposure being part of a larger forum such as here... Finding sponsors for events may also prove easier as part of a larger forum because they are supporters/sponsors of the forum itself.
Small niche forums take years to get going because there is much more action on the large forums. Just recently, it took almost 5 years to get a small niche forum to take off with more than a couple members online daily and it has members from all over the world, (not targeting a specific location).

The reason all great forums are started is for profit. I know of a large RC forum that clears over $25,000 a month in advertising. Small forums often become financial burdens paid by usually only 1 or 2 people.
