Have you tried to source a different servo?

No luck at hobbyking. I might try one of these, it's the smallest one I can find that can handle 5v
DIY 1/36 Rc Car 2.5g Subminiature Steering SERVO - US$4.19
I think it might be a bit large though.

hey guys....Im new here. Very cool little truck. Looking to get one or two. Hobbyking or banggood. When going to banggood, has option cn direct for 59.99 or us direct for 49.99...What is that? and what comes faster, less problems. Do we buy lights and what of the esc and receiver. I fly and have a lot of planes. (FM and 2.4) If I get one for my son, can and what receiver would work well with his smartphone as transmitter or should I just get him a good cheap transmitter? Thank you!

If you're in the US then get it from the US warehouse. You'll pay a few dollars more on most items, but it most likely won't have a bangged up box.

You'll need all of the electronics for it. As for the smartphone I don't know. It'd need to be some sort of blutooth connection and an app for that.

Dang. I've got an extra one of those. I couldn't stand looking at these anymore and ordered a kit and a 200rpm motor/gearbox to build.

I've also got two of these that are close to what you posted. But the voltage isn't listed and I've never used them. One review said it handled 5v for a while then melted.

HK-5320 Ultra-Micro Digital Servo 1.7g / 0.05sec / 0.075kg
You might be OK as the ESC only outputs 3.3v they're supposed to be low voltage servos...

This is what I'm using on my stock version:

I was hoping to stay away from the proprietary setup and use a semi-normal setup consisting of a 10a Chinese/XYZ ESC, dehoused Rx, and normal servo. I'll try it all out on 1s and see how it goes.

The Orlandoo motors are rated at 6v. So my 200rpm motor should be more or less 130rpm.

Low voltage servos wouldn't turn the big meats I'm running. So I opted for a bigger servo, cms, 3 link & panhard bar up front. She is a little beast now.

Default 1/35 4WD FORD F-150 DIY SET (New Product Preview)

I like the CMS approach. I've got a couple sets of Trekker and LMC wheels/tires that I had hopes of using, but they appear waaay too big. The one pic with the Micro Rally wheels looks promising. Maybe a set of Micro SCTE bead-looks. I'm also entertaining the idea of narrowing and/or bobbing the bed.

The truggy looks good and the CMS is a plus.

How functional is the CMS and how'd you do the fender flares?

Had to modify the transmission because it was too wide, fits with a lot of work though!

Yeah, I believe so. The measurements are crazy because they measure the monster truck tires included in the height and width- 125mm wide? pfft, more like 69-70mm.

Tamiya, Nissan King Cab Junior ,(17007)

@ Brake Weight the cms works like a champ but the pan hard bar is a must to keep the axle in check. The fender flares where just hit with a Dremel & sanding drum.
Got it all painted up minus a few details.

That thing looks good. What are those wheels and tires? In previous pics you had a set of Micro Rally's on and another a set of Micro T's. What's in this last set?

Same wheels in the first set of pics just painted them. They are from Fireball Modelworks
