Newbie here. I just purchased a CR-18 from www.crossrc.us and have done a few paint/body mods to it. I am more of a modeler than an RC runner, so I don't know how much off-road time this truck will see. I painted the rims, snorkel and winch. I added the mirrors, rack and snorkel from the Hobby Plus CR-24 "G-Armour" body (also from crossrc.us), and installed a CB antenna made from a bike derailleur cable. I agree that there are not a lot of options out there for bodies and parts. But, if you're just building a static model, that's no big deal.

Great choice for wheel color!

The Redcat Sumo kit.
The brass fits inside the hex wheel tightly, but it snaps in place fine for me

After a long time this seem to be the very first metal upgrade (oil?) shocks for those 1/18 Models by FMS, RocHobby, EazyRC, Hobby Plus (but the expensive red Hobby Plus metal upgrade shocks):

The EazyRC/FMS shocks from the Hard body are a little different than the HobbyPlus, but of course they can work. I haven't even looked to see if they bolt up, but stock for stock 8 think the EazyRC/FMS hard body shocks are a little better than the hobby plus. I've seen these on aliexpress but I didn't order them because I wanted to order a bunch of metal gears instead

Hello,

I wanted and RC car for the kid, something that would not get trashed after a week and that had spare parts available, so I bought a HobbyPlus CR-24. The kid in me got excited and also ordered one for me.

I've never been into RC, so I'm a total newbie here. I've been into HO Slot Cars for some.years now.

Does the motor in the CR-24 handle 2S voltage? Has anybody tried a WPL ESC (I have a couple is WPL trucks and electronics on the way) with this mini truck?

The CR-24 is a Christmas present, so haven't taken it out yet
