Default Tonka Jeep On WPL C-24 Chassis

I am building another Tonka Conversion. This one will be a four link rig using a C-14 kit as a base.

Default Modified C-24 Chassis

Here is a C-24 frame before and after being cut up to fit the Jeep body.

I made new lower control arm mounts from some hobby plate I picked up at Lowes. The partial holes will be filled in with JB Weld before it goes off to paint.

Default Chassis Update

I finally received some of the pieces I needed to keep this project going. The shocks I purchased from aliexpress are worthless. They have weird ball caps and they don't seem to be designed for anything WPL related.

I made some rough cuts for the shock towers. I'll clean them up when the project gets closer to finishing up.

Default Updated Build

My Tonka RC Jeep conversion received a few minor upgrades. The fenders were clearanced to allow MN-90 wheels and tires to be mounted. I also converted to a brushless setup. The brushless setup is about twice as fast as the brushed motor. It makes it much more fun to drive. There is still some minor tire rub that I will fix with bump stops.

You run with that much toe out, or pictured as it is before adjustments? Body looks much better sitting on a real frame.

I had not thought that far ahead. I am running the standard tie bar right now and it offers no adjustment. It also goes straight across so it will hit the drag link if both front tires are compressed. I have an adjustable one but I need to put a couple of bends in it to clear the pitman arm. I think I can fix the toe when I make that bar.
