I had found a losi trail trekker pinion kit on ebay for like 10-15 bucks but they all slip on me unless I crush the spine with notches. And everytime i do that, I end up with a bent spline.

So I removed the brass one on my RC4WD motor and use that on others. I have yet to try it on the SCX24.

The 10T on the RC4WD one is rather nice. Its a nice tight fit on all the other motors Ive tried it on.

I vote you get an ECX barrage long can with a 12T plastic pinion.

And you get a RC4WD motor with the 10T brass pinion.

And I think the SCx24 is either an 11T or 12T. Its not a 10T for sure. I was able to count the teeth in a picture of it to some degree and I got over 9 for sure.

This way you got new motors and pinions for about the same price.

Mine was 11t. I swapped down to a 10. I couldn’t go lower without having to open up some holes and didn’t have time to do it at that moment.

Swapping to a bigger spur when going to a smaller pinion makes up for some of that space while giving even more gear reduction without having to slot as much or at all. I haven't swapped mine, but from what I've seen a 59T Losi spur is the biggest that will fit. In my case I'm running a 110t Losi motor and 10T pinion, the Losi motor screws are a much thinner 1.6 or smaller giving some extra play. I'm waiting on a replacement Servo, but in the meantime I'll change the 10t pinion to 9t, swap the spur gear for a 59t and then swap in a castle micro and start tuning the throttle curve.

Maybe mine was 11t. Whatever came on the RC4WD micro motor is what I’m talking about. Thank you for correcting me.

The motor plate I showed on this video was for higher speeds. I also made a front mount motor mount to allow for use of a 11t pinion and the 130 motor. Its more torque than you will ever need and motor has never gotten warm on my rigs.
