| Wolfies build thread (or probably how not to do it)
Well I sadly start this thread off with sad news, the usb charger failed on second attempt to charge the lipo, and the iMax b6 I ordered is on the slow boat from China so kinda board what to do now, so thought I'd start a build thread for anyone interested, being in the UK means nearly everything I want to upgrade the scx24 needs importing from China or the US. I am playing with some stainless tube to create a stinger bar, but awaiting a bumper on the same boat, as always helpful advice and critique accepted. So here's a few pics of various playing around with what I have so far. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk |

Nice. I just ordered this bumper, back in stock on eBay. Installed today, perfect fit and look. Made for scx24 and works with stock bumper mount. I larger stinger would of been more ideal though. Looks great though. Enjoy your build Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |

Well I can't run it, so I've tinkered a bit, got the new bumper on its way, so thought what the hell, I'll play with this one, then if I ruin it... So here is my stinger bar on oe bumper, also had a play at weathering my chain, which doubles as a body clip saver. The bar is too vertical at the moment, so not put side pics up until I can get it the right angle. SWMBO is fed up of me using her as a course, so I have just randomly made a small (so far) polystyrene course, still very much experimental, but so far the truck manages it well. Good news is that the iMAX B6 is a great charger. I use it for all my batteries. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long. Looking fwd to seeing how your micro comes along.

Mini update, the brass spacers arrived, so fitted them, quick word of advice, if you don't ha e steady hands this can take a long time... But I did eventually manage to get it done... Now on full lock before the mod the wheels rubbed a fair bit, but since the grab the body and lock it up, I'm not sure I want to trim the body, so can anyone recommend another way to cure this. (image shows the body pulled out to show the overlap). That's it for today. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk |

Added a small touch to the car, didn't come out as well as I'd hoped, but it will do for now. And painted up the driver a bit.. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk |

Very nice looking truck and interesting thread. Will continue to follow this. I am about to do the exact same thing with the front bumper but the only thing bothering me is how much it sticks out in the front and I haven`t really found out a way to get it closer to the body. Maybe you have some ideas? |

Thank you, Mine still sticks out too far too, I will let you know if I find a satisfactory solution at some point as it will be even more important when I get my slightly smaller tyres.. Scx24 crc. Crawler 1/24 Wltoys a212. Shortcourse 1/24 Wltoys k969. Drifty 1/28 |

Well the b6 from China for some reason was returned by China customs, (or that’s what seller said) and got a refund.. So I got a b3 coming via amazon prime (2s and 3s only). I will get a b6 in the future, but spent out on some rc4wd tyres... Mrs has pointed out the kids and her need to eat even if I don’t! Lol, so hopefully I can hide any of the other bits coming in the post.. lol. I’d love RC4WD beadlock wheels but at £80+ cant justify, so assuming the new tyres should fit on my rims (or replacements if I can find them in stock), the new tyres are fractionally smaller which I am hoping will reduce the wheels binding on the body a little (completely would be best, but I’m a realist, lol). So hopefully tomorrow I get to play... One question, I have a couple of wltoys 7.4v lipos, is it possible to get or make an a adaptor to use them in my crawler? I don’t know the names of either connector. |

Bought my little lad a toy, but I think it might not get to him, playmobil trailer I think might just work with a few adjustments. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk |

Having a play with a body for the scx24, it's been a bit dejected since I'm playing with the enduro more at the moment, will definitely need slightly stiffer springs... Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk |

eBay, it was a radio Control toy, but was sold without remote, obviously with my intended use, that didn’t bother me. Was £2... but you do have to keep an eye out, took me a few months to get one cheap enough I didn’t care if I ballsed it up. Element Sendero 1/10. Crawler/Trailer. Scx24 crc. Crawler 1/24. Finally got some wheels and tyres on, rc4wd rock creepers and stamped steel wheels. Had to open the holes in the centre a fraction. Wheel centre nuts were hell to do up, need to cut slots in the barrel nuts.. Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk |

The more I look at it, the more I hate the look with these tyres, they’re just too small, so will be ordering something else soon, but the grip is fantastic, so good in fact it burned out the stock servo, so swapped it out for the usual upgrade (can’t remember what it is called). Steering is faster and more responsive, so kinda sad I left it till the stock died to change. Element Sendero 1/10. Crawler/Trailer. Scx24 crc. Crawler 1/24. Wltoys a212. Shortcourse 1/24. Today I killed the motor.... Oops. I set up a weathered plank (was planed smooth before left to the weather) at about a 55 degree angle and climbed it several times will try adding a link to video shot before the motor gave up. I know there are loads of threads about different motors that fit, but for now I will just get another standard one. I am very impressed with this little rig, currently I am using rgt wheels and tyres. They're still too small, but grip better than my rc4wd rock creepers. https://youtu.be/u9nrWvp-uxM https://youtu.be/OXhauWE3rgY Sent from my CLT-L09 using Tapatalk Last edited by Mr_Wolf_Is_Innocent; 05-30-2020 at 05:52 PM. |
