That looks killer! Which I'm glad to see because I just bought the Meus Ripper cage for one of my son's TRX4M. How do you change the battery with that cage on? Or do you just charge the battery inside of the truck? |

Thanks. On the passenger side I've cut the seat off and made it into a door for the battery. Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk |

Some tech shots. Battery door and the switch are on the passengers side. 58mm shocks are mounted on extended plates rear attached to the existing mounts. Front above the existing transmissions mount. Sent from my LG-V521 using Tapatalk |

Great looking scale details and love the Lego driver too! IME most of the tires in this scale have foams that are too soft and they tend to fold under when steering, what did you cut your tire foams from?

Little update. After some use and abuse, happy it holds up. The body is solid, not going to break anytime soon. It took some spectacular falls and rolls in any possible way. Down the rocks, a few times at least 6 feet. Landed on the roof hard few times. For the simplicity of the use and the added cooling benefit I've removed the passenger side completely. My sec is right under, made it cooler. Light bar choice will affect handling. The cheapest turns out to be the lightest. As good as that metal bumper looks it will hinder performance a bit. Makes it top heavy. Truck likes to tip forward more and makes it worse on some extreme declines. Tires are great on the rocks with the modded foams sidewall holds the weight well. Interesting to find out, after some hard spins on the hot rock I smelt rubber. They start to get better as they break in. Hobbywing Ez run 18a + 4500kv 11t opinion is actually not bad. Fast enough to walk with and deffinately good on the rocks. What it does on the rocks amazes me, at least a 60° climbs. Fail on the trail. Meus axles are great. Greased from the factory and running smooth. But the only thing about them is all bolts are not loctite treated. They will back off. I've redone all but missed one. However a very realistic experience of a fail on the trail. Over throtled, over gripped ... Something's gotta give. P. S. It's so easy to change the look of the rig. Great looking, can’t wait to see V2 of it. Bummer to hear but I think we have all been there, and some more than others. I’ve even had a shock shaft bend because of the exact thing. I may get flack for this but I like an over built axles and trans for this reason. I’ll keep the weak link with the driveshafts. Two screws and replace the whole thing, pretty quick and cheap too. |
