shady, no previous mention of a bonus. 1/2/11 didn't work for my work schedule as well as the 16th would've. that may have been worth callin in sick

Great meeting yesterday. Thanks to all who showed up. We had great participation from a good mix of veteran and new members; all with an intent of the overall good of the club. On with the details...

Series
  • Sportsman class has been axed. We will have 1.9, 2.2, and Supers only.
  • We will track 2.2 shaftys vs moa's; however, they will be in the same 2.2 'pro' class. And just to clarify-only the overall winner for the 2.2 class will be the nats qualifier. We can't send a shafty winner to nationals since there isn't a shafty class nationally.
  • We decided to continue with the 2 series format that we have been using. The first series (nats qualifier) will start in April and end by July 1st, and the second will be from July to Oct. See schedule below.
  • Standings for each series will be based on placement rather than actual points.
    • First place will get 100 pts, then each place below will be steps down in increments of 2-i.e. second will get 98, third gets 96, etc.
    • In the event of a tie, both tied cometitors will get the score for the tied position. Next in line will get the appropriate points for their placement. Example: 2 people tie for second. Both would get 98 points. The next person (4th place) would get 94 pts for placing 4th.
    • If a competitor does not show up to a comp, they receive 0 points for that comp of the series.
    • Everyone will be scored the best 5 comps of each series(1 throwout per series)
  • Club dues-It was decided to change the dues to $15 per series, or $3 per comp.
    • To be eligable for the prize drawings at the end of each series, you must pay the full $15 for the series by the 3rd comp of that series.
    • Anyone who pays in quarters or coins of any denomination, will get kicked in their coin purse.
  • Duluth comps, this year we added 1 comp in Duluth to show our appreciation of the Duluth guys coming down to Taylors all the time.
Comps
  • 2 courses per class per comp. Same as before.
  • Each course will have a 5 minute time limit.
  • # of gates & bonus gates will vary, keeping in mind the time limit of course.
  • First person to run each course: This was decided to try and even the playing field, and make the top drivers prove they deserve to be on top.
    • 1st place of the previous comp will start course 1 of the current comp, and 2nd place will be first on course 2.
    • If 1st or 2nd place aren't present or are late, it will move down to 3rd, 4th, or 5th place in that order, and only within the top 5.
    • After the first person goes, it will be free crawl order as normal.
    • If 1st or 2nd place are late:
      • First occurance will be a warning.
      • Second occurance will be a 10 point penalty to their score for the day(points-not placement, however this may affect their placement).
      • This is so people do not abuse the running late excuse to avoid going first.
  • To better our consistency of teching rigs, Mike (Irok22s) has stepped up and volunteered to tech rigs at each event. Big thanks to Mike for helping out.
    • We are going to get/make a better tech stick for Mike to use.
  • The finals event of each series will have the normal 2 courses per class. But we will also have a Finals Course for the top 5 of each class after the 2 courses of that event.
Misc
  • Mike (Irok22s) stepped up again and has agreed to help with posting comp scores to help Mike (EtypeR). Thanks again to Irok22s for helping out, and also thanks to EtypeR for managing the results last year.
  • Min # of trucks at a comp to qualify it as an official MNRCRC comp is
    • 1.9's: 3 trucks
    • 2.2's: 6 trucks
    • Supers: 3 trucks
    • Anything less and it will not go towards series points.
  • If we need to redesign a course due to it being too difficult, it must be decided within the first 2 runs. After that, it will be ran as is for all competitors.
  • We are going to get more gate markers of different colors to better signify start gates and bonus gates. **If anyone has any green or orange axial markers that they don't need we are looking both. Thanks.
  • We are going to look at a new case for the gate markers. Something easier to carry all of them in.
  • Mike (EtypeR) volunteered to get us some club stickers. He's gonna make:
    • Series paid stickers
    • Gate marker stickers (course 1, 2, and bonus)
    • Scale event stickers
    • Big thanks to Mike for helping the club out with stickers.
  • Since we don't have any classes that will be using the 20 point bypass, we are gonna look at a new scoresheet to save on the # of prints we need. USRCCA rules committee has been looking at making an official scoresheet. I will keep you guys posted on this.

Nice write up pimp. What ever happened with the bonus land discussion I showed up at that point and never heard how that played out. Is this something we are going to try for the finals coarse of each series?

What if the guy bringing change brought IOU's?

I didn't see that in the rules.

That is something we might try with the finals courses.

You forgot to mention that the extra money goes to pay for the strippers at the last crawl who will be handing out the prizes and trophies!

I created a short video last night of the racing at the Mermaid on 1.2.11. Nothing special but lets people see what you can do in the winter for indoor RC stuff.
