Yeah I was going to use those wheels for a military build too till I put them on a axle and noticed that the hex was not very deep and larger than 12mm. Duratrax must have used a 1/2 inch hex or something like that. And of course duratrax no longer makes the hexes for that truck so I couldn't just buy those to make up the slack. I guess they will all be spares

the picture with the shredded top helps. the B pillar hoop has a second bar that hinges off the back to tension the roof. again, pics in the morning will help.

there is a round bead at the front edge of the soft top and a channel at the top of the windshield, like an upside down rain gutter.
the top rolls over the front upper edge of the windshield frame and the bead slides into the channel from the side.
it really is as big a pain the the butt as it sounds.
think of the channel as a C and the bead as a Q_. the tail on the Q is where the rest of the top continues and the C is the channel on the windshield frame.
but the C is pointed down.
and is 5 feet wide.
did i mention it is a pain in the butt?

I am looking to build a 6x6 or 4x4 version with the bed and soft top cover on back like a cargo truck or whatever. Anyone know the proper name for one of these so I can look up the pics?

m125 would be 50's-70's cargo 10 ton. these are hard to find pictures of though.
m813 70's cargo 5 ton. 814 long wheelbase
m923 80's cargo 5 ton. 925 cargo with winch A2 designation add super singles and CTIS
m35 60's-80's 2.5 ton. m36 long wheelbase A2 or A3 designations can add more results.

to find 4x4 versions add bobbed to the search terms.
if using google image search you may need to add truck to get the pictures to be more relevant.

Thanks alot guys this helps alot. I have wanted to build one of these for a while. Based on all the pics and vids I have found I think I am going to go with a bobbed M35. They just look awesome! I'll start a thread once I get the build started. Thanks again!

This is going to be my inspiration.

A little update. Rear wheels are being re done here's some hardware I'm putting on. 10 bolt! Thats an m3 but for size referance.

A little of the gauge cluster and some of the shifters.

I wish my camera could catch the tiniest details but it's a little fuzzy.

just remember the 123 used the offroad 10 bolt pattern. 10 on 13.25 instead of 10 on 11.25. wouldn't want your scale spacing off

Any chance I can get more details on how you did the rear suspension. I'm getting ready to start my own 6x6, albeit, not as detailed as yours, and would love doing the suspension like that. I assume it alleviates issues with driveshaft and allows wheels to make more contact on slopes.
