Well thought out, quality work, as per usual.
Can't wait to see it finished!

Ok, where did I leave off ???

Oh yeah, with tcase in hand. I made some quick mounts..

Figured I better get the servo in there before the GRU and motor.
Decided to just block it on both sides and use the holes from the spring mounts to hold in the blocks. This alleviated a crap load of nuts I had to deal with up front.

Got a nice package from Holmes, a 35T and Sidewinder, couple that with a proto of Reign's "Gearhead" unit and we'll have plenty of power..

Couldn't resist leaving work a bit early so I could work on the mount setup..

With the tcase, GRU, and motor mounted they sit nice and low.

Also got the grain of rice lights in.. Possibly a little bright on 11.1v but i think it will look better once the entire rig is flat black..

like a dumbass I ordered the yokes without the joints, so no putting shafts in for me yet. Guess I better start sanding on the body for paint, I hate body work..

Thanks, got it, we'll figure something out buddy..

Got the drive shafts all in. Typical Traxxas shafts but sleeved with Titanium tube, just because I can.. Actually it's been sitting in my toolbox since somewhere around '95 I think.. It was left overs from a job I did on a DC-10.

Now it's time to move back to the body, need to paint the outside so I can run the lights and glue in the wires. Then I'll start the interior finishing.

I'm thinking the electronics will be the easiest as the Gearhead has mount holes top and bottom. I'm simply gunna mount a plate on top of it which will also be the top of the fender wells.
Should have about 6"w x 5"l x 5"h of mounting space..

What plan I had was in the first post..

6x
GRU
Tcase
Something that looked like a HEMTT

Everything else from there is just winging it...

In the middle of making a few things for Fish, I was able to shoot some paint on the body.
After a few days of drying, I got the pleasure of installing the grain of rice lights..
I'm coming to realize that my fingers are not as nimble as they used to be..

Also did some work to the dash, winch controls, and painted the seats..

Had to make a badge for the front, probably the only logo going on the rig other then the PTFO

Dash and controls, that's as detailed as it's getting..

That's as far as I can go with the body assembly until I get the windows,
they need to go in before the dash and seats. It's going to be awhile since
Tamiya didn't recognize my new zip code, so the windows I ordered never
really got ordered even though PayPal took out the $22.00.. Had to call
them directly today and place the order, now I get to fight with PayPal to get
my money back..

At some point I need to take the chassis apart for paint, this might be a good time..

Thanks man.. soon, hopefully..

It's been a rough week at work, the boredom of 10 hours a day of nothing just kills all my drive. Only one more week to go I'll have nothing but time on my hands to finish this thing...

but then again, how much can you do without an income...

This weeks progress consisted of setting all the lenses in the body. I stopped by a local hobby store and got some Krystal Klear, basically a plastic white glue that wont fog the clear lenses. Tip of the day: Don't bother fitting lenses beforehand if your going to paint the buckets.. Had to go back through and refit every one of them, lost two and broke one in the process..

Anyhow, here is what she looks like running straight off a 11.1v lipo. No need to carry a separate battery or run a BEC just for the lights.

9ea 12v running lights, 2 Yeah Racing LED headlights.

The bed will have 10 12v running lights and 2 tails, great more lenses.........

More to come... If my parts ever arrive..
