I added a few things prior to painting, I made a windshield visor and beefed up the brush guard a little as well as door hinges and door handles. I also added a extention to cover the #2 servo.

Thanks Matt and Dean, I have the weekend to start building the bed. I already hit Lowes this AM and grabbed the materials I'll be needing and with a little luck make some progress.

"Git Work Son", quoting Big Black.
I'm getting the bed rails done as I speak and maybe onto the bed floor tonight if not tomorrow.

The bed floor will measure 15" X 9" but I'm going to be building a boom for the servo winch. The boom will ideally fold down flat on the bed when not in use so hauling stuff will be compromised but it's still in the planning stages.
But..... I am considering building a trailer

The bed rails were completed today, as I mentioned above the bed's deck will be roughly 15"X9.25" and I'm probably going to make it out of Birch plywood in 1/4" I think. This wood is very hard and should hold up nicely for it's intent.

You should probably get a mini crawler to load in the bed, that would be sweet!

Love the progress so far, can't wait to see it going!!

Thanks DSD !

Decided to take a break from the bed floor after applying some Ebony stain, gotta let it dry anyway for at least 24hrs.

Ben tinkering with the servo winch, I made a spool support with a bearing.

I have to complete the winch housing and spool cover yet just thought I'd post this BC I was pretty proud of my Fat Kid Engineering

@ Mike; No sir, it is the newer HS-7950TH
403oz @ 6v/486 @ 7.4v
Not just anyone buys a $150.00 servo to make a winch out of

@DSD; Maybe It is a recovery vehicle after all.

@ 17Dean: Much appreciated, still more to come !

The winch box is done and installed to the bed floor. Onto the next step which will prob be the Boom.

Looking for opinions; Should I leave the winch box and boom to tarnish naturally or spray is with Black Hammer Paint from the Spray bomb ?
