I'm not much for the way brass looks tarnished. I vote paint.

I think o'natural would be sick if this was an old school through back, but given your current paint scheme paint may be best. Either way it's gonna be a sick truck

The HS-7950TH is a mammoth servo! I threw one in my UL1 and it snapped the rudder right off the boat... I forgot about the end points.. I like the brass.. The good thing about not painting is that you can always paint it.. |

@Dean, patience my friend. The skills will come with more pratice is all. @DSD, Actually I had the boom done is a little over 2 hrs from start to ready to paint. It kinda fell together I guess. I was going to double up the 3/8"X3/16" tube but instead just plated both sides. Now it's not bulky looking and should have roughly the same strenth ? I didn't try my hardest but I tried to tweek the boom by hand and it wasn't happening, I'm confident it's plenty stout for the job. Thanks for looking | ||

Nice looking brass there! Is that second tube in the middle going to be for the cable to pass through?

Yes that is correct, will be using 100lb Power Pro. I thought I could see the light at the end of the tunnel on this build but once I set the cab on the chassis I quickly realized I have tons of stuff to do yet. Keeping all these electronics and wires neat and tidy is going to be a serious PITA. |

That's sweet, with the winch set up you have. Any plans for a bumper winch for the front? To tie your self off when your lulling your buddies out?

Man thats going to be sweet!! Are you going to have some cables or chains holding the boom up? Or is there a third leg to support it? Gotta admit tho, I feel like a retard. When you first made the winch, I was thinking it was going in the front. I kept thinking, how the hell will this work... But now I see... |

Thank You gentlemen ! @ Leve; No winch for the front but I did install the LED set, skid plate and pull shackles up front today. I will be carrying a pull line with with a hook on each end also. @cal45: I'm useing after market shock bracket from my Wraith for the boom bracket. The next pictures I post will show it assembled, please stay tuned. In Beavis voice; "He said third leg, he he hehe" Enjoy the pics, thanks for looking. |
