They will sell tons of these if they keep the shipping cost down. When I first tried to order the shipping cost was $99. More to ship than price of the product. Its definitely worth $150. Been beating on ours for almost 2 weeks now.

Just received the replacement shell. Mashed. I mean, who would expect a thin plastic molding wrapped in a plastic bag, to get damaged on a flight to the other side of the world. Sigh.

Took my car out for a short test today to test the new metal axles, took a couple of pictures of it

The car seems to work better with metal axles, it does not flip over very easily as it did before.

Thanks for that! I'll see what happens through the normal channels first but it's nice to have someone else to moan to if need be. I'm not overly worried yet. Yes the pickings been crap but they've been very good at reading and responding to emails quickly.

Well, looks like I need to start searching for a body. They first offered to refund me the cost of the body because they felt that if they went another body it would end up the same. I told them that that was a rubbish offer as it would mean I'd spent money on a broken car. So instead they've refunded me the full purchase price! This does leave me out of pocket by about £25 in customs fees but I'm not too gutted. Now I need to see if there's some way of unwarping the other body or if not where to source another one from that will be sure to arrive unmolested.

Its right there on the website..

They have US plug or Eur plug (couple of bucks more for US) $100.08 then I went to cart and the shipping options are Priority Direct Mail 3-7 days $48.18, standard shipping 6-8 days $107.00 and $3.00 for insurance. I can't get into photobucket to upload the screen shot.

I purchased bearings from this seller at ebay:
10pcs 13SIZE Miniature Metal Shielded SEALED Groove Model Ball Bearing Mr Series | eBay
They are cheap and work so far good.
You'll find dimensions and quantity in earlier post, don't remember exactly.

The wheels could be purchased both from ebay and rcmart:
Alloy Beadlock 1 9 Wheel Rim Black Red 1 10 RC Crawlers x 2 Unit DY1020312 | eBay
for 1/10 RC Crawler 2pcs Red #XS-59209, ,(XS-59209) by Xtra Speed 1.9 Inch Aluminum Iron Clock Mass Wheel
Blue beadlock ring is also available if you would like that instead:
for 1/10 RC Crawler 2pcs Blue #XS-59208, ,(XS-5920 by Xtra Speed 1.9 Inch Aluminum Iron Clock Mass Wheel
Remember that you could not use the stock tires on these wheels, you need to have some with 1.9" inner diameter as the Axial Ripsaw tires I'm using.

Couple of weeks ago I had the car out for some hours and it does work very well, the axle mounted servo does also work much better than the chassis one.
Took some pictures during the trip, enjoy:

No, it does not. I replaced mine with one with drag brake.
The worst part is that the ESC and receiver is combined as one unit, so replacing ESC means adding receiver and transmitter as well.

Futaba 4pl good place to start reading about its features. Or a 3pl. Or maybe a flysky rx tx from losikid. One of these controllers may be able to handle your your list of items you want to control (2 winches dual steering etc) Keep an eye out in the classified section here for a good deal.

I have not replaced my transmission bushings yet, but I opened up to look at something and as I can remember there is only used one size of bearing in the whole transmission and it is the same size as the smallest in the axle.
I'm running stock Axial foam in my tires, I always do. But I do make some holes in my tires for the air to evacuate when compressed, if there is not sufficient holes in the wheels already of course.

Regarding ESC and that stuff, I think you should try to search some around. Mostly all questions you could think of to have, have most likely already been answered somewhere on the internet already.
But to reply to your question shortly, there is very many types of ESC and in all price levels with all types of features you could not think of. I prefer to purchase the cheapest ESC possible, for all my crawlers I'm using a cheap china non brand ESC that cost around $10 with shipping, and it does have drag brake and nothing else, simple and functional. The reason I purchase cheap equipment for my crawlers is that I believe and have experienced many times that everything is crap today and are not made to last. If two or three ten bucks ESC's lives as long as one hundred bucks ESC then I'm happy with replacing it earlier than a expensive one. Then I also don't have any hard feelings when it dies as I do when I paid a fortune for it.

For remote, there is not many cheap remotes to get that could handle that much. I mainly use Traxxas remotes for my car since most of them could be 5 channels with just simple mods, and they are inexpensive too.
Flysky GT3B and GT3C could be a good choice if hacked and changed firmware, then it could be used with up to 8 channel receiver.
I just changed firmware for my GT3C which I had a plan to have in my P601 with a 8 channel receiver.

I'm wondering if that's a mis-print since the SCX clone: HG P402 1/10 2.4G 4WD Wheel Drive Roadster Climbing Car Sale-Banggood.com

Is only 20.00 shipping. Sure the 6x6 is bigger but it can't cost over 10x the cost surley.

The axle and transmission internals look good and the cost of a complete metal axle is good.

The motor tranny position is interesting, seems like a good way to reduce or eliminate torque twist. It seems like an obvious solution but I don't think Axial or any of the others do that. Are owners finding this prevents torque twist?

Has any one also ordered the 4x4 scaler clone? I wouldn't necessarily mind a 6x6 but I hate that body that just doesn't look right. It would be nice as a flat deck or some version of a military truck or trials truck.
