Default Fleetwood RV: Jurassic park mobile lab

Ok finished for today.
Step 1 of today. I'm sorry I forgot to take pics :/ . But what you do is cut strips out one smaller then the other and lay the smaller one on top towards the bottom and glue it on the body where the center line is. Now if your replicating what i am doing to build your own just let me know and I will provide you with what ever measurements you need.

Step 2 using a dermal cut out the light holes. This is the tip I used to cut out the holes.

Step 3 cut out the same holes on the other side wall to mimic the exact location of the lights

Step 4 again message me for measurements but cut strips to outline the windows and glue them in place

Step 5 cut out the window bar mounts for each side of the window. As you can see I have a template I use to make duplicates of the same shape and hole placement. All I do is tape the template to two cut outs and drill the holes using the template to guide the drill bit

Step 6 glue the templates to the windows right along the edge of the inner window

Step 7 cut the tubes to size and wiggle them in and glue them down (glue the outside edges and the inside around the tube.

And of course this is a where it stands at the moment

Come back tomorrow. I will be making the handles that mount on the side along with finishing the storage doors and that will complete this side of the rear bus!

My bad for not posting lol just had to take a day off. But here is what I have done since then.
First I had to set my floor hight and lay down the supports.

Next I had to make the stairs box for the door

Then I went ahead and glued the floor to the sides.

And then this is what it looks like at the end of the night

This topic should get the same "visitor" amounts as the new Jurassic movie . Looks great.

Yes vacation was amazing! And I have made a little progress

I lost motivation for this build this past two weeks I just sat here and stared at it not knowing what to do next. But I found my motivation and I have started again. Today I worked on the third axle and servos. Was a pain but I started with a temporary drive shaft. Iv looked everywhere possible and can't find a drive shaft short enough so I made one with a pen tube that only lasted like 5 min before breaking. Will have to make a metal one later.

On the upside of things it performed just the way I wanted it to.

While I am not usually a fan of rear steer, I think for this build it is very appropriate and from what I can see well executed too.

Well done.

Cheers

Thank you, yea I'm not a big rear wheel steer person either but the turn radius with out it sucks lol.

Ok so here is where I'm at now got the back wall placed up and window cut out. The rear end may not match up completely with the 1:1 but I'm just having fun now.

Also started work on the round edges of the roof. I'm trying a different way this time around hopefully will be easier. And already forms part of the over head compartments.

Watched the video and for the first second thought to myself "man, that thing kinda dog-tracks." Until I realized the rear steer...

Which fits this build perfectly, it looks pretty nimble, especially with how long it is. Hopefully it's be that easy to drive with the hardbody on, Which is looking killer, I can't wait to see it all buttoned up.

Until then I will wait patiently, as I have a couple builds right now just collecting dust. Too bad none of them involve styrene otherwise I could use this thread to motivate myself.
