Default Motor Burned Out

Ok, so obviously I can't "put the smoke back in" but the motor burned out. I just put on 2.2 mudsslingers with a 27T motor and it burned out in less than 2 minutes. I'm also running a 3s (never had a problem with the 1.9 with this motor) and traxxas xl 5 esc.

Any suggestions before I burn out another motor?? I did have a 55T in earlier today and it didn't burn out when I did my first test drive

Depending on the rig, a 27T is rather "hot" (AKA, fast) for a crawler. A 35T or higher is usually more suited for crawling.

What rig do you have?
Do you comp or run for fun??

A "hot" motor has little torque, thus is tries to keep things going by volts/amps, thus heat, thus, "letting out the magic smoke".

I appreciate it!! Yeah, I put the 55T back in and it's not even warm. I just wasn't thinking torque first hand when I put the 27T in.

I'm just a fun runner! Everything is up and running good now. Thanks for the help!!

It's cool, look for a ~35T brushed motor. This means you are not hitting most ESC limits, have some torque, a bit of wheel speed, the motor will be around for a while.

You can go "real cheap" for a sealed motor for ~$10, mid-range machinewound for $20-$30, or good handwound for $45+.
