Traxxas Slash $199.99
Velineon Brushless System $159.99
Lipo battery $139.99
Intelli Peak Charger $129.99
$629.96

Does that brushless system sound good?

If it were me, I'd swap the Velineon for a Sidewinder 4600 system at $132.99 and for the Lipo, I'd go Trakpower 2S 4900mAh for $119.99 on Tower.

Don't get me wrong, the Velineon system isn't bad, but I prefer the cost and replacement plan of the Castle products much more than Traxxas. BTW, I do own 2 Velineon systems, so it's not like I'm badmouthing a product I've never owned.

cant wait
Well you don't know what kick up is for obviously. Kick Up in RC and all chassis designs for that matter is to improve handling, especially steering.

It's a quick and easy way to make some caster in the front of a car. Increased caster leads to more predictable handling...and that is the reason Traxxas and all other Race RC's have kickup.

I have 2 Zippy 4100s and a Flight Power 5350 coming.

As soon at the ol' PP account recovers from this weeks beating, I'm going to get a couple of those 4900s you mentioned.

Do you guys think a 7700 cc would be to much? I will be using trinity 4200 6 cells. I will have mine if my hobby shop ever gets them in.

Too much for your over obsessive scale opinion, likely.

However remember this is an off road truck which is meant to handle well in bumps, to do so using suspension to increase bump handling you increase caster, not look perfect to scale. Traxxas is a company out to sell products to a mass population and grow a hobby, not whine about how many lugs a 1.9 tire has or doesn't have.

The 7700 is to much for a 4x4 buggy.

The 4600 or 5700 would be a better fit for the Slash.

I just talked to a guy on Friday that had a 5700 in his pede and hasn't ran the battery down yet because he keeps breaking the damn thing. He started with gears and is upgrading as it breaks. SOMEHOW he was still running the white plastic yokes and dshafts but has all alum. gears in it now..

wow this thing is a BLAST whoever said they were boring stock is full of $#it. damn its fun. run 100% stock with a 6 cell 3600 stick pack.
its SO stable. it never landed on its lid ONCE. ever in any of these crazy jumps. controlling the big high speed power slides is a blast. i was running it on dust over hard pack soil, so the loose ground was probly what made it so fun stock.

one of my favorite pics

I couldn't agree with you more. These are a blast right out of the box. Sure we all like more power, but for my 11 year old its perfect until he gets use to the truck. I got another one on its way from tower, Sweet
