| 1/10 mini truck - IT LIVES! picture is up, video soon to come
hey fella's, i've be playin round with an Axial scx10 for a while and have since decided to completely transform it and its purpose. im in the process of turning into a little minitruck.. im half way through making up the individual front suspension and new steering setup to go with it. i also have figured out the setup for rear, i will be notching the chassis rails over the rear diff to allow it to really hit the deck and all four corners will have a servo mounted up to adjust the top shock position giving it a 'bagged' effect. i'll have a cantilever type setup for the rear and something similar up front. i will get some pics of my progress so far tomorrow. i thought about leaving it 4wd but it did like the idea of having the front diff there, didn't look right. so it'll only be rwd. im half way through making the IFS setup from parts of an old onraod car i had.

haha ok, not the best but they are pics. a quick picture of the steering bolted up. and my rear axle witch is too long buy 30mm. so also got a pic of the axle i want and some wheels i found that'd look pretty cool. i need the track width to be within about 160-165mm so the wheels will clear the body im planning to use, the F350 body from tamiya Last edited by schuler; 06-24-2010 at 02:41 AM. |

Plese tell me your going to use a hard body like a tundra or clod both would look sick slammed on the ground but i guess that would take away from the "mini truck'' idea

yeah im ordering a tamiya F350 hard body from the high-lift. i was gonna use the hilux body but didn't like the flares on the wheel arches coz they'd make the wheels look like they are too far inwards. i just need a narrower rear diff so the body actully goes over the wheels haha. i'll try and get more or most or the front done tomorrow (lower suspention arms mounted and steering servo mounted and functional. also, how do i get the pictures to come up on the page rather then posting a link to then? lol |

yeah that doesn't look too bad. not a big fan of the styling of it tho. i think i'll either go with a chevy clod body or an F350.

I say a clod body because i dont think those wheels would look right on a ford body

A Clod laying doors would be much sexier than an F350.
