Default 1st step into quadheli's and F.P.V.

ill share my experience with you guys as i travel into the world of fpv and quadheli's/multicopters.

ive always been a huge fan of fpv flying..
at the last fun fly we had locally,my friend matt took me for a ride
in his cub airplane, fpv w headtracking..so cool.
and well..i was hooked!

soooo..
ordered a couple of quadheli frame kits (vc-450 and x525v3) and my fpv equipment.

cant wait to get airborne and do some fpv flying!

hope to do filming of our crawler comps and gtg's and some filming of my
beautiful home state of arkansas.

ill even take someone for a ride in fpv..

parts should be in next week or so....cant wait!!

..

Sounds like fun! Pardon my ignorance but what is FPV? Can't wait to see what you come up with!

FPV = First Person View; flying a heli/plane via remote video feed.

Did you order the quadcopter frames from hobbyking? I was looking at those. But I'm pretty clueless on where to go from there.

alum spacers..
the best control board out now is the
Openpilot copter control ..cc board. @$80-100
which NO one has instock.
from what ive been reading its the chizzznit over all others.

all the other boards you have to flash this and flash that..
make special connectors so that your only touching certain pins
on the board when flashing it.

man im excited to get it airborne and punch out to 400ft in 5sec!!
what a ride!!

on the fpv systems you will see the different models..
900w/1.3ghz/2.4ghz/5.8ghz
my friends explained it to me like this..
the 900w gets you longer range but a chance of interference
with cell phones and what not..
2.4ghz you have to be careful of others using rc radio's/other fpv equipment..
5.8ghz gives you shorter range with less chance of interference

as to why im sticking with the 1.3ghz..its less used freq and im not going over 1-3 miles anyway.

some of the high powered 500w systems can and have went 30-50 miles away from them flying delta wing airplanes.

backpack
eagle eyes diversity station
sd dvr
WDR700 High Resolution OSD Color Camera 550 Lines NTSC(fpv camera)
1.3G 800mW
1.3G RX for FPV
Low pass Filter LPF1200/LPF1400
power cable: 1 input 2 outputs
1.2/1.3GHz Patch antenna
3s lipo 3000mah for power
fat shark fpv goggles

go pro hero hd camera for filming.

ill be doing a step by step setup video when i get all my stuff in
and get running right. ill pass it along to you guys to learn from
in your fpv experience.

heres a guy/videos explaining what it all does...checkout all his videos.

It really is. I let some guys fly it this weekend. Let it drop from 15 feet to the ground, got tangled in some wire and dropped to the ground and slammed it into some machinery and it is fine. Body is getting a little torn up, but it takes a beating really well. Even tried to barrel roll it last week, it didn't work, but it was fine when I picked it up.

Horizon hobby should have them in stock. I picked mine up at my local hobby shop.
