That's a bummer. Sounds like you have a new body. Team blue groove has some nice repop bodies

Cool can't wait to see pictures of what you come up with! I'd have a plow if we got snow.

It don't like the heavy wet stuff but what snow blower does. I got a little left on my deck that's going to be gone tonight if I can figure out where I am going to mount the lights on it.

Mounted them on the cat. Thought about on the blower but then when blower isn't on no lights.

Had mine out for some fun the other day, never driven it before.

Is it just me, or do these things have terrible slow speed steering control?

I don't care for the stock stick radio configuration, I want to see if I can get it so each track is controlled by it's own stick..

I was lookin' for a funny pic' for the day3 giveaway and found these. Back when I built it, it snowed right after I got the chassis together but before I even decided on a body .... so I cut up a cat-litter jug, just to keep the snow out.

I called it the TIDY-KAT. ba-dum-bum

It hasn't snowed enuf yet this winter ... and it's s'posed to be 60-ish on Xmas.

We finally got a little snow, night before last, just over 2 in. of fluffy/sticky stuff. SOOo I got the old 'kitty down off of the shelf ..... and spent yesterday afternoon cleanin' her up and getting a new steering servo in and getting the nitro engine loosened back up. It's been a couple of years since the old "litter-jug" look.
Here's a shot from this morning ....

I call her " 'Nessa's Ice-Box " If you've seen my other builds, you know that I like to twist-up Old School style with some modern tech' into something a bit unusual.
It's runnin' Traxxas waterproof servos and the radio set-up from the boat (off-season) in a sealed rcvr box. I use a TRX EZ-start wand hooked to a Kyosho electric starter on the GS.

I split the body at an angle so it flips open for fueling and general access. I need to do some proper styrene work, but the cheesy sheet-metal works for now. I used the starter wand to hold it open, so it kinda blocks the view. I can take better pic's if needed.

It was giving me trouble staying in "forward", so I rigged the trans forward only now. Just gotta make sure that I don't need to back-up.

I've thought about swappin' her to electric, but I do love nitro's.

This thing makes me wish we got more snow.

Thanks for checkin' it out and for the likes.

Well, there's not much snow left for now, but I tracked up the yard almost everywhere before it melted. That is until the starter gears shelled out again after the 9th or 10th fuel-up. It barked and backfired and that's all it took ....

... to bust the side out of the internal gear. This is the 2nd time it's happened in less than a gal. of fuel. Kyosho discontinued the starter, and now the gears, so it was time to figure out something else. I've had Revo's for years and the EZ-start has worked fine the entire time. And you can still buy 'em new, dirt cheap .... soooo I pulled the EZ' off of my Revo 3.3/Summit hybrid and bingo, the shaft on the GS-15R is the same as the 3.3 (well, .087mm smaller .... close enuf).
It had about 5mm between the EZ' and the back-plate from the old GS starter, so I dug out the stick of 1/8 x 1-1/2 aluminum and cut out some adapter plates ....

....and drilled and tapped one to mount to the engine back thru the old back-plate and one to fit the EZ-start. That allows me to mount it at any angle ....

and position the starter where it fits. It sits further from the engine, so I had to move the fuel-tank. I may swap to a Revo tank for more capacity, but for now I bungeed it to the roll-bar.

That just made more room without spreading the body as much. It all fits better this way ...

... with easy access. Ready to test-run tomorrow.

We're supposed to get more winter weather later this week, maybe it will be some more snow.
