Default Results from May 2nd comp

Just wanted to post up the results of our last comp...

2.2 class

Dave - 1st run - +5
2nd run - +29
Total - +34

Aaron - 1st run - +34
2nd run - +37
Total - +71

Craig - 1st run - +37
2nd run - +36
Total - +73

The mini Class was more of an exhibition than anything, as Dave was the only one to show up with a comp-ready mini. A few of us ran his MRC and got scored, but like the other class, he smoked everyone. It looks like all the mini regulars will be able to make the next comp on the 16th, so we should have almost as many minis as 2.2's this time around.

Default Results for May 16th comp

Hey, guys! Wanted to share the results of the May 16th comp. with everyone. The mini-comp had a few last minute cancellations, so it ended up just being a duel between Jamie and Dave. The first run ended up being a tie between the two with a +6 score for each. So it was all up to their second runs. That, too ended up in a tie with each of them posting a score of +11! Dave went first on the tie breaker run and had a small bobble, hitting a gate, and opening the door for Jamie to take the win with a good run. Jamie took advantage and had the best mini run yet with a score of -6, besting Dave's run of +7. What a blast!

In the 2.2 class Dave avenged his second place mini finish by basically putting on a show of how things should be done on the course with a blistering -10 combined score for his two runs. Woody finished in the second slot with a 31 point score for his two runs despite stripping a wheel hex part of the way through his first run. Craig made a tire switch to the new G8 Chisels after his first run and posted a +2 score, passing me, and ending up with a +37 score overall to take third. Here's some pics!

We give gift cards - $25 for first, $15 for second, $10 for third. We usually do door prizes for everyone, too. For the mini prizes, I let the guys pick out bodies and I ordered them for the next comp. It's a friendly gathering with sharing of ideas; nothing too cutthroat. It's a good time! Come on out....

Default May 30th comp results

Once again, we had a blast at the comp, having our biggest turnout ever! Even with a few of the "regulars" not making it we had five guys trying to score a win in the mini class. The course was a bit shorter than usual; but it was very technical and demanding. Dave settled back into his usual role and bested the field with a +10 score for his two runs. Jamie took the second spot with a +42 for his two runs and new-comer Steve got edged out, posting a +43 for his combined total.

The 2.2 class run was interesting. Despite running the same course twice, more drivers posted a better score in the first round than in the second. Dave bested the field with a great score of +2. Aaron had a score of +18 for the second slot and Steve matched his mini finish and got third place with a +39 overall. A few drivers had great runs, but only Dave put two of them together.

We even had a half-time show between the two runs! It was brushless Rustler vs. brushless Stampede; monster truck style. Then they turned it up a notch and decided to jump the entire rock course a few times! What a blast! Now for some pics.....

Minis ready to go.....

Gonna hit the gate or not??

A very tricky spot!

Ouch!

Steve negotiating a little side-hill challenge.

A little belly-draggin?

Another unsucsessful try at the bonus "ladder of death"

And......done.

Default Hobbytown, Harrisburg is closing its doors.....

I've been dreading posting this, but I thought I'd let you guys know that we're closing on July 3rd. I'll be around 'till the end, so stop in and see me if you can! Our lease is up and sales have been down, so Joe decided to get out. No more dream job and no more comps. Everything is marked down and the prices are going lower, so come in and load up. We gave the mini crawler course to some guys who wanted to set it up in a barn. Weeks to perfect it, and one sawzall and two hours of work and it's all gone! SUCKS! I'll have to come down a play at Sam Lewis and Pit Stop now for my crawling fix......

A last round of playtime......

Chopped up.....

Sorry to see that you are closing the store. I sure will miss the indoor crawling course and not to mention the one out back!:-( You did a lot of work setting that course up, not to mention the amount of time and effort that you put into building the indoor course and it's all for not now. For what it's worth.................... I had a great time at the comps. I met alot of good people there and will cherrish the time spent crawling up that indoor course, not to mention the time spent out on the awesome outdoor course. Hope we can get together again sometime a do some crawling!
Keep in touch!
