Default rally bug bit me again

so i have a Tacon Rally car.. fun little car..
but i want a 1/10 scale
No traxxas junk (been there done that)

So i see Tamiya has these TT02's but seems as though they arent that great.
Turtle's working with VX01.. front motor design and longer travel.. that might be too hard core for me.. im a basher so i take mine on the road ovals and race the dirt as well..
is the VX01 good for me? or should i try a TT01e?
this stuff reminds me of drift cars.
HPI SPrint2s were good to learn on but if you wanted a good drifter you d get a MST.
Is that what the TT01e's are to the VX01?

I see this kit:
TT01e
TowerHobbies.com | Tamiya 1/10 BMW M3 Sport Evo Jagermeister TT01E 4WD Kit
XV01:
TowerHobbies.com | Tamiya 1/10 Impreza WRX Sti Team Arai XV-01 Kit

and this kit:
TowerHobbies.com | Tamiya XV-01 Chassis Kit Long Damper Spec

its not a question of money.. its more a question of..When it starts breaking are the parts easy to find and are the upgrades worth it?

Esc/Motor : why not use Sensored motors? rather than non sensored?
i saw Turtle had a Castle motor. castles are non sensored..
just curious as to why non sensored?

for a basher .. you cant beat the hpi wr8 . does everything you want to do with the grace and poise of a grizzly bear .. stupid fun , tons of parts all over the internet , and really strong . same with the kyosho drx ve ..have and love them both

if you must go 1/10 scale .. there are other so look at ..
rcrally legends {same as exceed so parts are cheap but you get what you pay for .. my favorite tire compound though }
any Tamiya rally ..df03ra is a great one
hpi rs4 rally{long gone but if you can find them they are one ofd the greats }
losi had a few same as team associeated .. but both long discontinued as far as 1/10

and I think most don't run sensored because you race on lose dirt gravel snow and so on .. so you cant really gain anything from the fine tunning throttle of a sensored motor set up .. just a waist of money .. the faster lap time is made from fine tunning diffs , suspension , and driver skill

WR8 is wicked fun.. love it for a 8 scale rally car... I ran these before.. you are so right

Exceed stuff not a fan
RS4.. not a fan
TC4 not a fan
Losi= i have 2 ten truggies.. they have the ProRally but its the same as the scte or ten t chassis..
Team Associated.. they have a sc4x4 version of it.. not impressed

the DF03ra? whats the difference between that and a TT01e?

DF03 is a whole different animal from the TT01.

I run non sensored on my group B car and sensored on my s200 car (both xv-01s). Really I don't know if one has an advantage over the other in our CRC style rally racing. Turtle runs non sensored in his cars. Some other guys run sensored systems.... I think it just comes down to budget, extra wires, preference, etc...

well i was comparing the VX01 to the DF03 and for the extra $50 the VX01 is better deal.
I was going to go with the HPI WR8 but its not "to scale"

I got a friend thats selling me his Losi Pro Rally but im sure its a SCTE converted to Pro Rally.
it will be fun to have the LC Racing 1/14 and the 1/10(1/8 sized) Losi

But my Xmas present is the VX01.
What esc you guys running? Do you guys run Brushed more than Brushless?

I run an 80A turnigy trackstar and sensored brushless 10.5T motor on 26 tooth @ 2s. Motor and ESC run cool and it's fast. $70 combo.
