In years leading up to today, I felt Worlds title was appropriate since we were pulling almost as many foreign drivers as domestic, but certainly within the last year we have seen very strong growth in Europe while the US drivers are reduced or flat. There could certainly be both US nationals and worlds, but it might hurt attendance to have both. But really, we are splitting hairs over an event title when we know that as many top drivers that can attend, will attend.

It has been very interesting watching the growth of other countries while the U.S. went down. It really illustrates how many locations are behind the US merely because it took a while to catch on there. And we have seen them continue to grow while we decline, and now it seems the US is ready to begin growth again while a few other countries are starting their late decline. I get a special view into this trend through Holmes Hobbies. And I can indeed confirm that France is really kicking hard right now.

One point that was brought up that I agree with, is to consider an event like this years Worlds a shootout and not a finals, since we didn't have full attendance based on invite systems. I think it might still take a few years to get back to either a US or World finals in the strict sense.

Long term goals, I would love to see each country have their nationals that would be the only way to get tickets for worlds. I would love to see nationals attendance determined by local points series. And I would love to see the local series like it was 5 years ago. After this weekend I feel everybody is on the right track, we have a lot of renewed interest and far less cliques than previous years. After all, we are all the same folk having fun with trucks, and I think people are realizing this as we all age. There is a lot of folks that are coming up on a decade of involvement!

Jonathan is about done with getting the overall together, and has the scores posted on RC orva in the results section. I can't rip them from the page in an easy to read format, so he is just creating an html file so I can post it here. I will create a new thread and list both final scores and also per course scores.

Thanks for getting scores going on RCORVA JRH. I know it will be some more work but at some point I would love to see my scores from all the courses. There was no Driver score card this year and I can barely remember what my scores were (Let's blame the heat :p ).

I think there are other people that would like this info and it would also be valuable to learn from it, what percentage of drivers finished what courses etc.

Scores are posted here in bad formatting, with the link to RCOrva's results page with more readable formatting. We are working on an export that would mesh into RCC better.
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/2015-...al-scores.html

We will be adding the individual course scores available for PDF download on RCOrva shortly as well.

On the topic of driver scorecards, with the rules changes for the 2016 season that I have already announced here http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/rcca-...e-changes.html (two days after worlds fast enough for you babies?), you will find that we have removed the requirement for judges that sit on course all day. At large events, you can expect to have both individual driver scorecards for your personal use and momento, along with course scorecards that are picked up throughout the day to keep scores easy to update.

I think the next Worlds should be in the location where you can pull the most competitors.

You lose West coast folks when it goes East and vice versa but I would play the odds and put it where you would have the most people.
I strongly disagree with your statement about it being a mistake for worlds to return to the eastcoast. The NENC has draw more registered drivers for the past three years running than any event out west.

I am in no way knocking any events out west. The idea of the event bouncing from coast to coast gives all drives the best ability to attend the event, even if it every other year. Keeping it west coast will not serve the best interest of the sport.

What worlds/nationals really needs is improving promotions and easy event guidelines, we can learn from exceptional hosts like jslick and put the rubber down better. I'm probably not the best person to promote an event, Im still learning how to do that for holmes hobbies after 10 years, and additionally I am running two other businesses that put me beyond full time work. BUT, I'm also not afraid to delegate.

Although Worlds could have been better in many ways, it was an incredible experience with everything pointing to a positive future.

Let's not make a East coast vs West coast thing here, the point of all this is to have fun building and driving toy trucks! It does seem fair to alternate though...

Yeah that didn't work out well for Biggie and Tupac.
Coast alternating US Nationals in addition to country alternating Worlds would be ideal I suppose.

I'm not really fussed where Worlds/Nationals what ever you want it to be called is held. But do none of these states have usable rock for an event like this?

Geographicly the area you highlighted is the central plains section of the USA. I'm sure that some of the northern states and the ones to the west like Colorado have some beautiful rocks and views, however most of them are pretty flat.

From what I've seen, New Mexico has some killer spots.

Youre right. I didnt realize you were pulling so many drivers so... my apologies.

To any that I offended about E vs. W, I also apologize. It was not the intent but rather just to keep the hobby going, however that can be accomplished, even it if meant no Worlds on the West coast.

When I think of worlds it is breathtaking scenery and killer rocks. Bumping back and forth from east to west is a good idea. I like the idea of adding in Canada also, however clubs and point people in the area that it is happening need to step up. I know you did a ton of work Erik for this past worlds like BC Brian and I did for the one before. We all what what is best for the sport that we have invested so much time and money in and if you were able to make it to Worlds this year your SWEAT too.
