Ya definitely go with the dravtech shocks. Its always good to get a stock baseline of performance first then upgrade.

Waiting for my BEC from tapped out, so in the mean time am thinking what to do with these lexan body panels. Has anybody ever worked with this Tamiya iridescent lexan paint? Ever seen any rigs painted with it? This ones suppose to be purple green and 'sounds' interesting, may be too blingy I don't know. I currently have cans of red and black thats it. Maybe red to go with my 1:1 I posted in the 1:1 forum the other day, but iridescent purple/green ......hmmmm |

Stock cannot be oil filled! They do not work that way. Oil is for lube only. You may be able to use grease instead to slow them down. I never tried. Just bought big bores. Dravtech is a big bore copy. Cheaper. And nice looking.

If they're emulsion shocks, meaning no bladder, then fill them about 7/8th the way full. Before you drive, pump them up to get the emulsion foam action going. If you feel a dead spot, they need a few more drops of oil.

| Re: Cloudswimmer's Bully II Build Roger that E Hey on those Dravtech's .. they are listed as being 2.5mm longer than stock, so I assume thats a small enough difference to not have to relocate upper shock mounts on a stock Bully II RTR?

If you can, put them in a higher up hole. The thing is too tall anyways.

You can only fill them half way. Use some thick oil, might help but at the end of the day, there still garbage.

And if you still dont believe me check this out. The short time I ran them I did notice when you let them sit they do seem to get really stiff but I also didnt really ever break them in. My big bores are smooth as butter. As for dravtechs shocks them being longer just use a different mounting hole. And I would try to put them upside down. My big bores are longer too. | Re: Cloudswimmer's Bully II Build How am I wrong if 6 drops is 7/8ths full? Get over it already. Go back in time to the early days of Tamiya TLT crawlers (2005 I'd guess) and see who ran an internal spring shock set up and you'll find my old posts. And in the Berg section, too. Full droop, semi droop, not droop. All that stuff. I understand how these things work.
