You know there are ways to widen wheel offset right? There are ALOT of ways around that problem.

I recon they already stick out too far, plus then you're increasing the throw of the tyre which'll probably cause it to hit the shell instead.

ok i tore the truck down and split the axles to try to get some more steering. turned out to be a waste of time

first i thought the ball part of the knuckle was hitting the straight axle housing tube limiting steering angle. so i ground about an 1/8" off the knuckles using a 1/2" drum.
then i realized that wasnt the problem, it was the XVD stub axle hitting the axle housing tube "ball" on the end. so i ground that down.

once those two were done, i could see the real problem. the xvd was limiting itself. the XVD stub axle hits the ring that goes around the ball joint. you can see it in this pic, just to the left of the ball joint, and just right of the silver and green. if you look on the stub shaft you can actually see where its been rubbing. (silver no grease)

so with that actually limiting the trhow im not sure what to do. all the other grinding did no good. maybe 1 degree extra if anything

any ideas?

Enlarge the diameter of the bore so the ring has some place to go? IDK, I'm just tossing out the thought.

im actually thinking about going back to the dogbones if i can get my hands on a stub shaft. i have everything else but 1 of my stub shafts is bent.
im wondering if i could actually get more angle out of them.

I was just looking another possible option for those interested in finding an overdrive for the front on the tf2 rigs. If you run a K-44 front axle and a Yota rear axle you will essentially have the same exact gear reduction as an axial using the offset ring and pinions. Plus the k44's have more steering than the tf2 stock axle to begin with. The k44 axle may require some kind of wheel spacer to match the width of the yoda axle as they are slightly narrower.

I'll give it a shot and see how it works.....

and yes to answer your question.

a little birdy definatly "in the know" PMed me and said that the XVDs max out at 35*
