Default Just starting my build and...

Just started my build and I'm wondering 1) I purchased the soft red leafs , should they be used? Are they better for articulation ? 2) went with the all metal punisher driveshafts as I always wanna go bulletproof from the get go.

I run reds on all 4 corners of mine and love them. I use one helper spring on the front and torsion bars front and rear. Flexes great for a leafed rig but without the bars you'll be fighting some axle wrap if you run big power.

I started out with the reds and found that they bent very easily on the rocks. I ended up going back the blacks but adding shooters and T-boxes front and rear. That plus longer shocks (90mm up front using the top hole on Gelande 2 shock hoops and 100mm in the rear) made the biggest difference among the things I've tried. I've now had quite a bit of run time with it (probably close to 10 hours) and am really happy with the setup.

TF2 = time to push my scale envelope

Good luck - these rigs are a blast!

Chassis and suspension is pretty much done. Just setting up the steering linkages. Now on to the 2nd stage ... prepping and painting the body!

Seems to be a popular color, one of my very favorite's btw. Just painted my TF2 the same color.

TF2 is great little truck to build up. I find the red leafs bend to easy as well.
CREEPINKINGs little front setup looks neat i will have to try that out on mine.

On Trails the reds were fine. But rock crawling and getting a tire stuck ended up in S twisted leaf.
I have a neat pic flexing leaf spring into a S bend

Ouch xS... For me the stock black leads flexes plenty... I've even added the medium helper on the bottom of mine just to increase ride height because the black ones too soft and droopy
