yes the r1 is originally a shaft driven crawler,
the drive shafts might be too short or too long depending on what
links you use.

I forgot -
you might need to drill some holes in the skidplate for the different tranny or
you might be able to use the Everest skidplate

let us know what you come up with

good luck

Hello guys. I am starting up with this build again and I want a nice, and small lipo that will fit on this skid plate. Any good suggestions out there?

you have filled up your message space in the forum.
clear out the old messages in both the in and out folder
and/or buy a star and that will give you more space for messages
pictures etc.

thanks, that lipo checker seems nice
I just bought me a pack of three of the checkers,
for 7.50 it is not too much to loose if they are not any good
we shall see

those look like 2 stage shocks, seems to have 2 springs each
when you get them take some detailed pics

I will do. Also on the lipo checkers, it showes how much voltage each cell has. Also u can change how low of voltage u want to set the alarm to go off. So they seem pretty cool also very cheap!

I bought that same skid plate for my rs10 r1. I would recommend mounting the links inside of the skid. You should also bend your lower links for more clearance. I found it helped big time. I will post you some pictures..

I clamped them in my vise and bent them with a hammer or by hand depending how much meat I had to hold on to. Be careful not to bend too far then bend back because they will break

Here
is a good and short video guide on bending aluminium at home, it will make it easier if you dont got a vice too.
But be careful when heating since aluminium quality may vary.

But i think you will be ok just bending them cold in a vice as long as you are gentle and dont overbend like skot124 said.

Really nice trucks too, almost makes me wish I bought a rs10

The stock rs10 links are pretty easy to bend on a vice since they arnt round. You can get both links exactly the same if you have more then one bend
