I haven't had a TTC comp on my railroad for the last year because I knew we were doing this one, and I didn't want anyone thinking I'd have an advantage. The courses will all be completely reworked and this being a new truck has not been on any of them. I built this truck specifically to be a competitive Class 3 and TTC truck, and would love to have the chance to see how it stacks up against the best. Thanks, Tim. Off white and lettered with the guys who support me Locked Up RC Team3Six Holmes Hobbies The WideLux has taken a few different turns to get to this TTC. It started out as a 1.9, then received Wraith Axles, skid, tube changes, and refinements. I love to build and love to drive. Tim's TTC comps are the best around. I took a tied second with Ryan G @ the last 2.2 Tim held, after winching through the entire tank trap to finish the course. TTC is about the fight and keeping the truck moving forward. IF I am voted in the parts box comes along and until it's dead or has finished each course, the WideLux will still be running. Last edited by Difuser; 07-27-2012 at 06:11 PM. |

This truck will be better, faster and stronger for this event and will not quit until the spare parts are gone. I have enjoyed building this rig and would appreciate the opportunity to destroy it for your viewing pleasure. Last edited by Pancho; 07-25-2012 at 10:11 AM. Reason: Language |

So here's my ever faithful FJ45, once again fighting for a spot in the TTC. Edit: Here's the link to the build (should have added this sooner). Chino's TTC FJ45 Build Very little has changed on her since last year. I see all the builds coming together for this year and can't wait! Many with Wraith axles under them but for me and my driving style, I prefer the narrower track width. I tried her with my Wraith axles but didn't like the way it handled or how the axle clearance was due to the wider stance. Many of the trails I ran on were tougher with the wide stance compared to the tried and true 3racing axles with XR10 front knuckles. My experiments otherwise always seem to bring me back to it's current setup. I will say though, there will be changes made to the shock setup for this years TTC. I like to be the underdog, it makes me want to win that much more, I know I will be under powered compared to others as well as lacking the side hill capability of the Wraith axle clad rigs but I guarantee I will put on one hell of a show trying to topple the big dogs this year! BTW, I will be doing it old school style!! That means NO dig and NO 4WS!! Real men don't need that sissy stuff!!! Last year I placed 5th in TTC and feel I could have done much better if my DX6 throttle gimbal didn't break during the first course, leaving me with 1/2 throttle all the time. A not so quick swap to my DX3 kept me in the game but for some reason the steering was not as good as the DX6. Meh, better luck next... I mean this year! Here's where we sit for this years voting. Custom built FJ45 Well worn Bruiser frame Tamiya FJ40 body cut to FJ45 cab Flipped and narrowed Unimog bed Custom 3-link up front and 4 link rear 3racing aluminum axles with XR10 steering MIP shafts RC4WD shocks up front, Axial SCX10 rears Mayhem wheels Proline TSL tires Mamba Max Pro ESC Novak 18.5 sensored brushless Castle BEC Custom winch controller for 4s fun Hyperion 4s Lipo Spektrum DX6 Quicksand 8274 winch out front and 3racing winch out back (both on 4s of course) Chino63 lights (to blind the camera guy) I'm ready to entertain!! Rock chuckin', mud slingin', sled pullin', high flyin' madness!! One more thing, I'd like to thank everyone once again who voted for me last year, I hope I can gain your vote again this year. Those of you who are new to this awesome website and don't know me, please vote for whom ever you choose. There are many worthy trucks and drivers in this years TTC line up, everyone well deserving of the chance to compete. Thanks for looking! Last edited by chino63; 07-27-2012 at 06:25 PM. |
