How long is the bog? Will we start on dry land or in the bog? Also if you want to get done in a timely manner, we will have to split up into groups or it will take forever. So we would need multiple timers.

The mud bog has a dry start and then gradually gets gooey lol. It's going to be a challenge for sure. We will figure out a way to speed it up. Groups are a great option I am here now at the location with some of the guys that are helping with this event so we will definitely know by the morning. See ya then

Guys I had a great time we had a great outcome evn though the weather started out horrible. I really appreciate everyone hanging in there for this wonderful event. I will post pics up on my profile as soon as I get them uploaded. I will keep everyone updated on the following comp to come. Again thanks to everyone that traveled distances near and far and hope that everyone had safe travels where ever you call home.

Awesome first event for me!!!
Great group of people!!! I have to say that I was expecting to hang out with cousin Eddy digging for cans of money buried in the yard and then drive over the holes that we would make in the process... (ok, to be fair, Robert was like, "DUDE!!! you're coming with me! This is gonna be epic!!! and then he sent me a ton of links via text msg and of course being busy me never really actually got around to following up by clicking them... sorry robs...) anyhow... as long as there's gravity and terra firma then count me in, right?

Well, WHAT AN EVENT!!!!!

These guys were legit! Totally cool peeps with respectable machines, talented handling skills, and forgiving for idiot noobs like moi.... pretty much they gave me these reactions all day... ...not really though... but dude... what a great way to get inducted into a cool community!!!

Seriously though... I felt like a 12 year old who'd been handed a fancy set of golf clubs and taken out to Glassy mountain links for some "friendly competition" (I use the analogy of golf.... golfing? because I know nothing about that sport... seriously, I was expecting to be around some people who were like... "So... um... nice stock Rubicon... I guess... have you looked into maybe getting some upgrades? I'll loan you some stickers. You can sit over there and watch us because you're definitely new."

I was literally expecting a version of that.

But NOPE. The dudes there (and one cool dudette with a cool 1/10 scaler dog) spent the day explaining rules and explaining vehicular terminology to me.

Had a TOTALLY awesome experience. Very inviting. Can't wait to get my bats recharged and wheels dirty again with this crew!

They had a magnificent 5 event course set up with TOTALLY runnable lines. The way they set it up had NO impasses and 60-80% of the drivers were able to clean each course... no tempers... totally mellow hang-loose group.

Did I mention the food and prizes? Yeah, they had that too with... WITH... TOTALLY COMPETENT judges. In my humble but accurate opinion, their confidence in hosting and cool-hand-Luke approach to all the personalities represented made the day a WELCOME break from the daily grind.

And it was a true scaler event. I can't speak to this enough. I was expecting a real-life experience of youtube yokels cranking their scale crawlers up planks and jumping them over dumpsters with parts flying everywhere. But the vehicles there were practically models... with custom details and parts gracing their models from bumper to bumper. Everybody drove like adults and treated their machines like something of which they were proud.

I can't emphasize the professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness of this group of fine people.

I look forward to any and ALL future events hosted by these true RC Scale Crawler Artisans.
