Oh I'm digging it alright. Painted body looks look Cross should be using it for advertising.

If someone didn't mind sacrificing scale appearance, could they easily enough just trim the bottom of the body to keep from lowering the bumpers?

I would think that you could easily trim the rear to clear for the bumper mounted in the correct place.
You can see in the photo below where the rear bumper mount shows through the body

Here I outlined where I cut the body on the trim line also showing where the bumper mount holes are for the bumper

Finally we have the rear trimmed. If you look closely you can see the trim line for the bumper. If you compare it to the above photos you can see how much you would need to trim off. I think it would be to high into the tailgate but you are not worried about the scale look it should be fine.

You could also possibly sand in some half moons to let the bumper posts slip under the body without trimming away to much material. Not sure how it would turn out but it was just a thought

I have been debating on putting on door handles and a filler cap. I have some extra Jk handles and cap

So what is the thoughts on using these on this body? I know that the don’t “fit” but it’s all I have laying around that will never get used. Then again the body it’s self is a mixture of 2 different Scouts.

Scout 800 that is short wheelbase

Scout II long wheelbase but has the correct rear window for the Cross body

Thoughts are welcome

I have hit another cross road. I don’t know which way to mount my interior. I can mount it inside the body without to much trouble. On the other hand I can mount it using the body posts in the front and some small rubber spacers stacked to support the rear.

I plan on adding some bits and bobs to the interior so I think it’s going to be best not attached to the body. It’s also a pain in the .... to get the rear posts up and over the rear seat cutouts.

Any comments welcome

Drill holes in the body posts for either body clips, long set screws or driveshaft pin screws and set some some rubber or plastic spacers on top of whatever you use. Then the interior can rest on the rubber or plastic washers.

With the back bench missing the top of it for the body posts I don’t think that there is enough to sit on. I could possibly slide a micro clip and plastic washer over the antenna tube to help hold in place. Normally I wouldn’t have brought up the tube like that but it reminded me of the old days with the “fishing pole” antenna tubes. I can still try different things before I fully make up my mind.

I see that now on my PC. I did not see that it was all cutout on my phone. This is a perfect scenario for a 3D printer. If you can design it or get somebody else to design it I'd gladly 3D print it for you. If the design is simple enough I can do it in a few minutes, but I'd need dimensions. All you have to do is pay shipping. I'm not trying to sell you anything.

I appreciate your offer but not actually sure what I want to do. I will look into it over the next couple days. It’s on me list to finish up but bigger things are shutting down my RC time. Would like to get it painted but that doesn’t even seem to be happening any time soon.

Maybe you can use the rear body post and the lower holes to mount a support for the interior. Something that extends enough to catch the rear bed/shelf.

I just worked something up real quick.

This would slide onto the rear body post from the bottom.

side view

If you can measure a few things I'd be happy to try and work up a design for a little support. I'd need to know the distance from the bottom of the flat of the interior to the center of the hole you want to use, pick a hole towards the middle so you have some adjustability maybe. I'd need to know how far from the center of the body posts it is to the flat of the interior.

First I would like to thank HumboldtEF for all your help with my TK. Without you I wouldn’t have been able to achieve what I have with with it.

Second would also like to thank Codyboy for all his help also. I look forward to our weekly chat sessions.

Third as some who know me know that I have a life changing event coming up which has stopped me from working on my trucks. Free time is spent on getting things ready. I will be starting back up though as soon as I can.

HumboldtEF came up with some awesome rear supports. After several emails I received them Saturday afternoon. Took a little me time and installed them. Perfect fit first time and the interior is level.

Also got a set of headers that he has designed.

Nice interior supports! Nice design HumboldtEF! Simple and very effective!

Hope all goes well with you and looking forward to seeing more of your build in the near future.

Thank you B-Mow71 for the encouragement

I am going well. I have been busy on clearing out the spare room of all my RC stuff and moving into the garage. I am setting up a new space in the garage. My spare RC room has bigger things coming for it but eventually there will be RC’s back in there in a couple years
