It was a nice day and I figured the Mardi Gras partiers wouldnt be up early, so this morning I headed down to the beach for a bit of fun! I didnt take too many pics, but I burned through 4 packs....

And shortly after, this happened:

Broke the tie rod bolt and the ball end.

I skipped out on work today and met RickM down at the beach today for a bit of crawling:

I let him drive this truck a bit....and by the end of the morning, he was talking about building one.... My apologies to his wife, but I accept no responsibility.

lovin it,,rigs lookin killer,,love the red and white...,,,off topic,,are you running near salt water,,if so does it affect your rig any,,there are a few real sweat spots by me ,near the bay and ocean,,the fear of "possible damge" the salt water/air may cause,,its kinda kept me away

Yep, that water is warm and salty as could be! I havent seen any issues with my comp trucks, but I dont get them in the water. They do go in the sand though. IMO, the only issue you would see is if you use those black oxide bolts....they would rust. Most of my bolts are stainless, Al or Ti...

Awesome rig man! Diggin the white all over

I have to ask, (I see it here and there on some rigs) did you fab you front steering link or does someone/company make them specific to super bully axles?

Thanks! Yeah, I built that steering link (the silver one) from threaded rod sleeved with stainless tubing. Although, lately, I havent been very happy with it. It flexes a bit too much and I have been looking at building one out of aluminum hex stock.

It looks good but bummer it doesn't perform as expected. Alum hex sounds like it would work as long as it's solid core. Thanks for the info

Well, it worked quite well at first, but I think repeated abuse has taken its toll....

Were you seeing the flex at the bends? I'm looking to go this route (8-32 all thread w/ ss tubing) for upper links on my super rig. I've looked at Lunsford' links but they are too short. What size tubing were you using, link? Thanks Jeremy
