Thumbs up 2010 Super Bully, Colorado style.

I have been wanting to rebuild my super ever since last years comp at Red Rocks in Denver (a.k.a. Rocas Rojo). So one day I was talking to Richard (Wrecker) about ideas for a new Super. I remembered a chassis that he had made quite a while back that we had talked about. And before I could ask if it was alright that used his design, Richard offered it to me to do some testing and see what needed changed. I jumped all over it, because it was what I have been wanting make for a while, but don’t have the equipment to do a nice job.

Thanks Richard for the opportunity to work with you on this. Now this meant that I had to do this right with out breaking the bank. So, I have been working on gathering new parts as I sold my old parts. It is kind of hard to spend too much money with work as slow as it is.

Here is a list of parts that I will be using for this new 2010 Super.

RC4WD Super Bully axles
Wrecker's Prototype Super Chassis
Nova’s Ark single stage foams
Nova’s Ark Custom Plowboy tires
HPI Blast Wheels, Black
55t Tekin motors
2 x Tekin FXR ESCs
2 new Hitec servos when they are released
So for now I will use 2 or 3 Hitec servos 5955TG
Hand made Delrin Links
Revo rod ends
Shocks ???
Body ???
Custom Hand made Hub weights
For this super I am going to switch back to my RDS8000 Airtronics radio.

Pictures are what we really want, So here they are.

Thanks guys .

I am headed to the machine shop tomarrow when I get back into town. I am hoping this will only take a few days for him to draw them up on the machine. It is a very simple design, but now I need to make my measurements for them.

First things first. I needed to make a wheel base jig. I got some plastic from the local plastics shop and measured out the holes I will need. I also made it so I can use it for my up and coming 2.2 build.

Looking sweet! You beat me getting your build started... I'm still waiting on a few more parts before I post mine. That chassis looks like you will have a ton of options with it.

Thanks Shon, It took me a long time to the parts together for this. But even longer to deside what to use.

Oh, crap. The pressure .

I have just realized that this is going to take twice as long to build with having to take pictures at every single step. But I have been wanting to do a build this way for a while now. Plus I told Richard that I would try and do him proud . So, lets see if I can keep it up.

Looking good James! I can't wait to see what we can come up with this new chassis. Lack of adjust ability definitely won't be a problem.

Yea, you said it. There will be almost endless adjustability.

Next I mounted the axles to the jig and mocked up the chassis.
I was running an 18” WB on my Hustler and I really liked it over the 17” WB.

I will need the ground clearance to be pretty good where I crawl at, and with the longer WB the clearance needs to be more than normal.

You can see here that rear links help protect the rear axle. This is the angle I was going for the rear clocking. Not much, but just right, in my opinion.

Here you can see the amount of available flex with this set up. I will use the shocks to limit it to my liking.
