i noticed that the chassis appears to have no flex (i only watched the first minute or so) maybe about 1" of movement from front to rear.

Video of chassis flex(both 4link & torsion)

This chassis is based around what I want a chassis to do. I don't like alot of flex. 4link gives 4 inches of flex, you can force more with the torsion.

The torsion in the rear is minimal due to 8 chassis stiffiners, less stiffeners ='s more flex. I just don't want much.

I only want a little torsion to help "settle" the rear when climbing and to help "wiggle" out of binds.
I really like a solid rear and 4 link front(last rig). I just felt that wear it was great for climbing(doesn't fall sideways on climbs as much)it also lacked the ability to let the rear "bite" the torsion helps with this.
When your bound up I like how a torsion allows you to use the throttle to twist the chassis and then let it come back, seems to help it wiggle out of stuff. (in the end of the video you can see me work the throttle to get past the rock. Notice no reversing and it "wiggled" it's way past the rock).

The chassis is set around what I like in a comp rig, might not work for everyone.

Started tearing it apart again. Here's a picture of the front axle. I clocked it 45 degress last night. I'll start putting it back together now. Should allow me to go back to the lower links on bottom side of axle(had to switch to bent to go around motor reductions) and run BTA!!! Last comp I was running the servo horn into the 3rd. course rock hard enough to bend it. It just stuck out to far with the little tires I was running.
Anyway just thought I'd update after 2 comps and 2 4th places. Specifically last comp I had -4 on 1st and 2nd course. Thats right -8 going into 3rd stage, then a 35 due to falling of a ledge cause of my steering not clearing the rock(check past pics of front steering.)ARGHH!

HERE'S a pic of the portals I had Dude weld.

Got some BTA stuff from Justin at J&M custom RC today. It came nicely packaged and complete. I only used a tierod for this build but the other stuff will go to a clod project I'm doing.

Started by cutting a new servo mount that bolted through the upper link mount in 2 spots so it will no longer be able to twist.
Oh ya, I should go back a step.....notice I clocked the front Raptor axle a full 45 degress to allow room for the BTA and to allow straight links since I had to use bent links to clear the motor reductions before I clocked it.. Here's where the mount bolts to the link mount.

Bolted to "c" leaving room for shock mount to sleeve spacer.

Servo mounted...

Along with shock and finally a 4 link again(without bent links, yipee.)

Bottom side showing links and BTA, Only dissapointment was the lower mounts being pushed in at axle end to clearance BTA. Realy killed ground clearance in front.

Finished front shot, next project will be to relocate the upper link mount so it's on top of axle instead of in front of it.

Alright she's ready for the AXIAL event in Donner.
Made a little peice to toe the front in the way I like.

Took a 1/4 inch out of the belly, and new skid material.

Flex shot, Yes to diffrent tire size's. I'm running 2:1 reduction on the front motor only and Portals in the rear only (1:5 reduction.) Seems to climb well like this. 14 5/8's front and 14.5 rear! outside width. SKID coming in rear tomorrow.

NEW body..

Wanna say thanks to

Wow. Very cool chassis. I love your outside the box thinking. It's awesome. Makes me wish I would have come up with that. I'm a little suprised at all the axle carnage thus far. You aren't even brushless yet, but at least RC4WD seems to be taking care of you, so that's good. Congrats on the wins. You deserve it after all the design work.

Sick Jason, I was wondering if the gears would hold up longer than the axleshafts, now I know Good to see RC4WD responding to your part need quickly
