So the plans where to run a pajero body so i made a deal with a member and got the above pajero body. The day i got it i was searching some builds and fell in love with this hilux and i have always wanted one but just never built one. So out with the pajero and in with the hilux First things first i had to cut the chassie to get this build rolling so no turning back now. New frame rails As you can see the frame will be a bit wider then the stock axial width Cab on Inside the cab Still have some cleaning up to do along with trimming the back of the chassie to fit in the cab. Just a tad bit sticking out |

Nice! I like the changes so far. Still have the skid? I'll buy it back from you if you want to part with it (as well as any of the other custom parts I made). |

Thought i would post some progress pics even tho its not much. Just got back from vacation and i got a little work done. Hardest part of a build to me is making the body mounts that are strong and hiddin. I used a highlift cab mount and cut it in half and use some existing holes in the tub. It will be hidden by the future tube work. Im thinking i may need to extend the rear frame rails a bit. Maybe? Maybe not? Doubt ill get this much flex once the 4-link is all bolted up I plan on boxing all this in with stryne for stiffness and looks The axial frame has the same curve and fit pretty nice. Front body mount the extra threads help line up the upper cab mount. More to come!!!! Let me know what you guys think |

That frame to tub mod is one of the coolest ideas for these rigs and your right the line of the curve matches up really good. Keep up the good work can wait to see what you got going on next.

Just a few updates I made and mocked up a stainless upper link mount that still needs to be fully welded up. I also extended the frame rails and i think it makes it look alot better. Im really liking the bed look but im gonna make my tube one first. The bed lines up perfect for not planning on running one. benzoel Stopped by with his rig that he is building and im trying to get him to make a build thread for it. |

| Re: Power To The Portal (Makeover Now With Hilux Cab) Thanks man No bob im just gonna build a nice tube flat bed and may even throw in some wood flooring not sure yet. But if i dont like it ill throw on the stock bed and call it a day. I seen you finally made a build thread Well done!!! well done!!!! lol I may end up seeing how the tube bed looks on your rig with all that long travel it might look better. Im gonna try having it done by this weekend and maybe you can swing by? We gotta mock up your front IFS and brackets Last edited by balln; 06-14-2012 at 03:27 PM. |

Im a huge Nissan guy I have a 88 single cab hardbody slammed with a engine swap. My daily is a 94 4x4 4dr pathy thats getting some susp and body lift. And I'm building a 4dr hardbody that's on the frame table in the garage now. Gonna be bagged and bodied with a JAG IRS with inboard disc and much more. | |
