Some bad and good news for the RCbro high steer guys...

Bad news is that the Berg weights did not turn out to fit the RCbro high steer knuckles. The good news is that if you are running them and are somewhat handy you can make them fit. Its just a touch off but, by no means perfect.

First thing you would need to do is take off .015 (less than 1/64 of an inch) off the top of the weight. The profile in the knuckle weight is just a touch too small height wise for the piece to fit in. If you take more than .015 off that would be fine. You have a lot of room for error as there is a decent amount of material at the top.

Next thing would be to drill and tap a set screw on the opposite side of the existing set screw. You will need two so that you can tighten both equally and center the knuckle weight.

Last thing you would have to do is take out a tiny, tiny piece of the knuckle weight. There is a line that is exact already there for you. Just shave a bit off and check fitment. Not much needs to come off as the arm is angled.

I will actually do a set here when I get a supply in stock. They are just a bit too valuable at this point to even use them.

I would think that this would be a pretty simple mod for anybody to do with a dremel.

Looks really good. I like the improvising on the large steel ring too.

How wide are your wheels? Guessing you could run a 1.35" wide wheel and fit the steel ring, maybe even a stock losi wheel if you cut them like that.

What did you use to coat the ring?

I'm running the vanquish ssz-9 in black on 600 hubs. I think they are .7 or .8 wide? I had to slide the ring all the way to the inside edge of the knuckle weight to keep it off my wheels. So I had to cut it in order to do that. Then I used textured rustoleum spray paint to keep them rust free. The setup you see in the pics has been the perfect weight for me. It is a crawling machine. Thanks for the great products Erik, the weights have really taken my losi to the next level. You can check my rig out in the (losi sporsman rig thread) The pics are before I got the steel rings and the .300 rings though.

Can't wait to get on the rocks with these at Motorama and show what a Losi can do when it is a DLUX. Thanks Erik for all you R&D to make our rigs better.

Hmm, guess those wheels really have a deeper offset.

I am going to have to go find that spray paint. Those rings are killer. Maybe it adds weight though

Had a great time at Motorama with some of the best drivers around, the conditions were tough but I had an awesome time, Erik the bent links, worms and knuckle weights were great to have on my LCC. I picked up wheel speed which was needed in the driving conditions and the weights helped pull me over many of the breakovers that were there.

It also had a nice scale section.

Here is a few of samdog running the knuckle weights also.

that was right before this happened.

your hex pins are solid, the old nyloc lugnuts in both rears backed off. I made it over the breakover and through this gate on 3 wheels. It was a 5 gate/5min.course (lugnuts are important LOL)

It would be really fun to do a comp like that. I would have to figure out my car all over again though. We dont do anything like that.

One of the best things about the big hex upgrade is that you can take a ratchet and tighten down the lug nuts so they are super tight and dont come loose. I was always afraid of going too tight on the smaller pins so I would have to tighten my nuts every pack. I dont ever touch them anymore.

I didn't know Losi offered cutting brakes on the LCC. Right turn Clyde.

With the rears limited it carried well on three wheels and I was able to clear that gate. wish the lugnut did not back off. No more hijacking
