Ok, I did some serious tweaking to my knuckle weights on this thing! I really didn't like my current knuckle weight setup and new I could get more weight down low. First off the blue monkey weights are nice, but the problem is the knuckle weight fits just as the knuckle sits on the chub. So, it's at the 8* angle like the knuckle. The problem is I could only add one ring on the lower half because it would hit the wheel hub. You can see in the pic how it's angled like the knuckle!

So, I sat it flat on the table with no wheels on and loosened all the grub screws so the knuckle was free. This allowed the knuckle weight to sit perfectly straight on the knuckle. Then I re tightened the screws and added some shoe goo to the top where it was slightly spaced out from the knuckle. With the knuckle weight square, I now was able to take the half ring off the top and put it on the bottom. I was also able to drill a pilot holes in another half ring and with flat screw heads attach another to the bottom.

The final thing I did is with my tag widening kit and universal shafts, my stearing angles where rediculous. It actually had too much throw. I needed to come up with a stop, so that it would not put so much stress on the servo and axles when they where turned in a bind. I added some brass washers that I cut, to the bottom inside, this not only gave me good weight down low, but also provided a stop for the knuckle!

Stinkin' Brilliant on the process to getting the weights to work with the 8deg hubs.

Just some redneck engineering. I wish blue monkey would have designed them to sit straight. O well, glue fixed the problem. Still had to do a little shavin on my hubs and the outer half rings to keep the hub from rubbing, but now this fat girl sticks to rocks like never before!

I'm probably going to steel your upper rear link idea and play with raising the upper rear links some.

As much as I'd love to claim it. I read deep in Dluxs old Losi thread where he was talking about raising the rear uppers at the axle and the benefits. So I kept pushing things until it felt good. Pretty positive you already have them, but I really suggest the brass inserts on the top holes if you do this. I ran without for awhile, but when I did the inserts it made a world of difference.

Please post what you discover, very curious.

Where did you get the main (long, knuckle to knuckle) steering link?

I think it's one from vp that I have modified. I will get you an eye to eye length on it.

So, this rig has been sitting in a box in pieces for about two years. This year is the 10th Anniversary for Crawlapalooza and they are reintroducing 2.2 sport and 2.2moa for the competition line up! So, I decided the old Losi needed a new breath of life. Headed over to RCBROS.COM and grabbed the awesome Spider chassis. This chassis was designed for an axial. So I made a new skid and made a few mods here and there and it all came together to be the first RC Bros Losi Spider! Got a lot of miner tunning and add electronics, then I'll be ready to hit the rocks again!

So, update on the rebuild, this rig did fantastic at 2016 crawlapalooza. It had sat in a box in pieces for over two years. Put the RC Bros Spider chassis on it and some bench testing then threw it right in the ring with some heavyweight drivers. I could not be happier with the outcome!
