Well tonight dad and mom went to a tech expo on milling machines and 3d printers etc (free beer street tacos and burban Pecan pie with vanilla ice cream) long story short the sitter had the kids passed out when we got home. So I got out the hakko and started on the smash for the esc . I've got to get some cambric tape and heat shrink and 2 more coats of conformal coating. Then it will be done. were hoping to be driving tomorrow after the mail lady brings the Holmes Hobbies box!.....

Well I've got to do some troubleshooting. One axle got up to 150 degrees in 2 laps around the living room. The other was up 90. I filled the housings with grease I don't think I over tightened them. I've got massive amounts of torque twist but it climbs well and the speed is just right for Jr.

I'm working on one of these myself and also new to a LNC. Just to let you know there must be something binding somewhere as you already know. From what I've read and with mine you really shouldn't have an any torque twists with these. Try taking a read through the friction sticky to check if you missed anything.

Some heat is normal snap...but that's up there..check the shim placement on the worm gear. They often are wrong.

I found the binding spot the drive shaft was rubbing. I need some losi comp crawler drive shafts or something similar anyone have a suggestion. The stock losi is just a bit short.

Hey, I have the krazed builds rear plate also and with the stock driveshafts I had to shave very little of the plate above the rear driveshaft. I have switched out my driveshafts now so there is no rub when compressed. Using the lnc drive shaft in the front and an S.D.I in the rear which can be shortened. I'll try to get a pic up later but you can find the S.D.I driveshafts on a search here I'm sure.

Was it the front or the rear?

In our LNC, the rear gets alot hotter than the front, BUT been that way since new out of the box and barely shows any wear.

Now on the LCC, both never get warm.

Are they shimmed correctly? IIRC you can adjust them by installing or removing shims. LOSA6358 is the shim set.

I got Jr a set of Sdi propeller drives shafts headed this way and hit up Holmes Hobbies for a micro momba x sensored brushless esc to use with my 13.5t sensored motor.

You'll be happy with the drive shafts and I'm running the micro x which has been working pretty good. Jr is going to have a rig that whoops on any of yours from the way it sounds haha at least on the rocks!

What motor did you pick to run with your momba micro x? Have you got a set of the 20 degree knuckles or chubs yet?

I got a 17.5t D4 1S Short Stack Maxzilla with the extra torque which was recommended to me and its a nice motor. Mine had the hot racing chubs/knuckles on it until a day or 2 ago when I did the XR mod.

Did the 20 degree knuckles help any?

Well I got some jato rod ends and a few other things to finish up jrs rig from Rrp Hobbies amazing fast shipping happy customer! I have gotten all the links where I want them and centered the front wheels. I think I'm going to get the tuning set of weights from blue monkey to go ahead and load up the front. I got Jr a 16.5 hobby wing motor to hold him over till dad can afford a brood or Holmes brushless motor.
