Exclamation Nice look, POOR ability

Gotta say I had no issues with the bead, took 10 minutes to throw the tires on my rims, perhaps it is because I mounted them on a set of pro-line rims.. but yes they have a poorly designed bead, wasnt sure when I stretched the rubber over that they would seat proper, but they did. However...

These tires would be good for guys running full droop, or the yeti maybe, but for serious rock crawling?? I found in stock form they are horrible.

I could not get any grip on rocks that I was easily moving up and over with my usual mounted HPI Grabbers. I knew that the centre tread spacing was too tight from the the get go (and from 1:1 driving as well), so I cut them which improved the grabbing friction from stock drastically when sliding my hand over. So I threw them back on and had at it again with high hopes... again, the could not pull me up anything but the tamest rocks and angles. Poor vertical climb and zero side hilling ability. They could barely make it through my peek n tune course, struggling to make a very sloppy finish, and I had to white knuckle drive them with all my skill for this unacceptable outcome.

In an effort of comparison I mounted a set of crappy G*Made Bighorn tires that I had left soaking in wd40 and put them to the same test, exact same course that I have set up at home for gauging and testing my tweak and tunes. I gave up all hope after my G*made tires out performed the modded TSL's.

Very disappointed with the tires. I will eventually feel up to trying these out again, after some foam tuning and perhaps more aggressive tread cutting but....

In the mean time, back to my go to grabbers.

* a note on my rig, so you have an idea of what the tsl's where driven under:

XR10, semi droop, high clearance links, 4lbs 8 oz fully dressed.

I also have had one hell of a time getting the bead of the tire from popping out. I have never encountered this problem with any tires before. I'm using Vanquish Products rockstars and no dice. I'm starting to think there could possibly be a manufactures defect with the new swampers.

Ok I have a little update on my tire situation. I managed to get the tires mounted on the Rockstars. It was a bi*ch but I got it done. Here is a little tip that may help you guys. First a washed the tire carcass with dish soap the removes grease. You will be surprised how much stickier these tires get when you wash them. Then I started to assemble the wheel. I started the screws and then proceeded to tuck the bead of the tire underneath the lip to the wheel. After that I tightened the screws a little more and repeated the proses until the screws were completely tight. You will know you are getting a good seal when you hear the air being pushed out as you tuck the bead under the lip of the wheel. I was ready to give up on these tires but worked through the problem. I hope this helps someone. Cheers!

I just got mine in... And they are just as big a pain as the 1.9's were. The giant foams stretched the tires to the point that the bead is so out of whack that they don't touch the bead ring. When is proline going to read any of the posts regarding their goofy foams being too damn big. I have them out in the sun and hope the go back to a 2.2..

I had a hard time mounting my xl's with the stock foams. I ended up narrowing the foams about one inch. I plan to order deuce's wild foams soon.

i cut about a 1/4 inch out of the center at a pretty good angle as the foam was pretty stiff i did not think it would hurt that much and they mounted just fine. my rims are just about 1 inch wide, i love the look of these things cant wait to test them this weekend. here are a couple pics

Intruly do not think thats the case. I cut these tires up and now they are 10x more aggressive. The wide ass foams are still an issue but the tires themselves are still able to conform nicely under my 4,5 lber. These tires just arent for rocks. I put them on my gmade r1 5lber that is a racer basher rig so we'll see how it fairs i guess.

Taking a 1/4" off the foams is prety much a must. Like black monkey ^^^

My xl's performed just like the regular tsl. The added ground clearance is a nice bonus. The stock foams absolutely suck, so I will be ordering crawler innovation foams.

I'm going to get a set of these and cut like my current tsl.

Tsl is my favorite tire

I run this foam combo in my rb2 and love it. My rig is 8.5 lbs this will be the first combo I try in the big tsl. Those are 6.0 outer ed with proline memory inners.

Yet again My Vanquish wheels are the easiest to mount tires on I have owned.
From disassemble of the old tire set up to finished product 10 min max.
This was a test fit, still have to vent the tires.

I didn't attempt the mattress foams.
This is an omf , stock cans, with Deuces wild Tall foams.
Fills the tire perfect with just enough room for the tread to flex.

Look ma no gap

OMFG, I've been trying to mount these on my 2.2 trail kings and 2 of the tires look like the bead is actually stretched out??? Like the inside diameter on 2 of the tires (only one side on each) is BIGGER than the rest. 2 tires mounted no problems what so ever, but these two look like they are a defect or something? I'll take some pics tonight...
I've had proline's mounted on these wheels before with no issues...
