Nope. You'll have to get it a lot hotter than that is capable of. Are you going to braze it or silver solder it?

the melting point of the brazing rod is like 1300 degrees, maybe less. That one gets to 2000, so it should work..but why buy that. Just go to home depot and get the actual one everyone uses :? just a basic mapp torch |

Traxxas- Yes I got it from Homedepot.. Just ask someone for a Propane torch. Then you just need to get a Mapp bottle. Or you can just buy the torch tip and then the bottle. What exactly are you bending?? Only time I have ever needed heat to bend something, is when I had a very small radius and had to bend tubing by hand and it was a custom bend. Any other time my brakeline bender will bend it, even 1/4" solid rod

You need to clearly explain what you are trying to accomplish here for anyone to help you. What material are you using? Are you looking at brazing or welding the material? Spell it all out for us. Better yet, do some searching around the forums here for tuber builds, the use of brakeline, and MAPP Gas. Odds are, most of your questions have already been answered multiple times.

You have six posts in this thread, and have yet to explain what you are trying to accomplish, other than "make roll cages." You can make roll cages out of drink straws if you want. Good Luck! Maybe some others here can read your mind better than I can. |

Mapp torch, 3/16", 1/4" brakeline or stainless tube, tubing bender. Really though take some time to look around all the information is here. Rollcage for what????? if you're plannin on making a rollcage for something other than a crawler you're wasting your time. |

You do not use heat to bend tubing. You use a tool like this. A torch like this is easier to use, gets into tight places. Use MAPP gas. Look at model 19199 in the above link. Buy a tubing cutter, a good one lasts a life time. Last edited by Madcratebuilder; 01-21-2006 at 06:59 PM. |
