That is a great idea and a plate that size gives you plenty of room to make larger radius bends as well. Being set in you know they will match up every time. I will be running to the depot Ina bit and just added this to the list --Dan |

I search for the cast iron version here locally at ace, home depot and Lowes. They don't have it. I recruited my local buddy that owns ace hardware to track one down for me.

I used to have a similar mockup, however I did mine with a 2x4 and wood screws. I always ran into the problem of kinking tube so I never got very far with it. I think I'm going to follow your idea the other guys ideas and set it up for a flat work surface. |

I got mine from Jeeper05 this week. Went with a 6 1/2" then picked up some bolts. 1" bolts didn't work with mine but 1 1/2" did. |

I made one of my own for my upcoming project too. I couldn't find a grate with holes in it. Mine has slots, but I kinda like it better because it is fully adjustable. I can set them as far apart as I want. Here are the pics. Thanks for the Idea OP your creativity definitely gets all of the credit. |
