nope not at all it has 2 speeds.Have to be a bit careful if you use the impact.biut its a great drill.Ive used some cheaper 3/8 drills but they just let the bit slip and end up messing up the bits,in this case you get what you pay for i thinck.I also use them for work .

I have a black and decker 12 V Litium Ion drill, its easy to handle, balanced and a pretty good price. I got mine at home depot for 59.99. It came with the drill, 2 batteries and a charger. It has as much power as 14.4 volt Dewalt stuff i used to use contracting and its much lighter and lasts way longer per charge.

primary now are my masterforce (menard's store brand) 12v drill and impact. lighter and tough. used the impact all day to pull 1/2 carriage bolts hot swapping packs, no issue. the drill has fine clutch control for tapping, and does pretty well with a bit too. also fit in the field pack nicely. for doing large work, have my craftsman 1/2" 18v lithion drill. in low gear, it'll pretty much rip itself out of my hands, but its still light enough to use for drilling out links and such. |

I use the Bosch PS20-2A. Comes with two batteries and can be used for light and heavy duty tasks.

I took an old cordless screwdriver, took out the batteries (2 sub-C NiCds) and direct wired it to the 3.3V output of a PC PSU, the same one I use for my charger. Never have to worry about dead batteries It's not very strong but then I don't want it to be, I use my hand drivers for final tightening.

I can't wait until I can justify going from a NiCad battery drill to a Lithium battery. The NiCads die too quick. I wonder if I can retrofit a LiPo in a NiCad case...

I use a Milwaukee m18 drill and impact. I have had both for about a year and have never had a problem with either. They are overkill for small stuff, but I can spend a full day hot swapping batteries in the drill and not have a problem, and the impact has no problem breaking the lug nuts loose on my diesel. |

I see there are number of different threads on this forum talking about cordless drills so I'm going to reply to the most recently active one. I was just about to grab an Axial SCX10 Rubicon kit and realized I want to start using an electric drill/driver. I don't want to spend (any) a lot of money and I think this "Durofix" driver will work well for my needs and I like the price: Amazon.com: Durofix RD8102 Li-ion 8-volt Drill/Driver: Home Improvement I'm trying to find a decent hex/allen driver set that would work with this driver without breaking the bank. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance. KYLE |
