Nice. As long as you get Lithium and brushless you will be happy for your cordless tools these days.

The Nextec is not brushless (replacement motor below), neither is the Ryobi I have, the older 4-volt Craftsman or the M12 Milwaukee (non-Fuel model, 2nd photo below). I can't recall reading where many of these drills/drivers were brushless. Makita (LXT), Milwaukee ("Fuel"), Bosch (DDS) and a few others do have some brushless tools though and I'm sure there are more to come over the next few years.

Nextec Motor Asy - Part Number 2790150001

Replacement motor for the Milwaukee M12, not to be confused with the M12 Fuel.

That's nice, but I'm surprised it's only 2 speed and not variable speed.

I bought this 18 volt Makita with charger and case

A couple of years ago at Costco for around $105 out the door

It has drilled every thing so far with no problems

It has a light that comes when squeeze the trigger

The light really is helpful some times

I picked up a black and decker cordless screwdriver @ lowes for 20 bucks. Seems to work ok, just lacking a little power.

Just got one of these as an early birthday/father's day gift:

I do recommend getting a second battery. The life isn't very long with the gyroscope.

Note: the clutch and variable speed is in my opinion, absolutely necessary.

I ordered the MIP drivers today and I'm going to Home Depot tonight to grab something. Probably the Milwaukee. I have bought a couple of the cheap cordless screwdrivers in the past and didn't like any of them.

We just bought some Ikea furniture so this will definitely come in handy around the house. My 18v drill is just too large for that kind of stuff.

My BRUSHED MOTOR 18 volt (Nimh) Dewalt with 1/2" chuck lasted 12 years until both batteries died, sold it to some guy who had lots of other DeWalt cordless and many batteries. Replaced with smaller lighter more maneuverable DeWalt 12 Lion set that is very powerful for their size.

Cool, MIP is nice drivers. Milwaukee is great corded tools, haven't tried their cordless. Always had great luck with DeWalt cordless tools. Yes 18V is huge and sometimes won't fit into the spots I need it in...their 12V stuff is really nice and gets into tight spots.

Ernie,
It stinks the battery is $35 on Amazon. I sell batteries and think that's overpriced

All tool batteries are overpriced! You can pretty much buy a whole new tool for the price of a battery or two.

Ryobi Tec-4 batteries are $15 each last time I checked, another reason I chose the Ryobi. Aside from that one example I can't remember any tool battery being reasonably priced.

You will love that combo, I have absolutely no regrets with with Milwaukee driver. I've been using it for my deck construction too, the battery lasts forever.

That's the standard M12 driver, the Fuel will have the word "Fuel" on the drill/driver and have a different part number. Part #2402-22 is the Fuel driver with 1/4" hex drive, charger and two batteries.

Rick,

I bought the Milwaukee M12 Driver at Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.m...000492168.html

The MIP hex set was bought thru RPP: MIP Speed Tip Hex Driver Wrench Insert Set, Metric (3)
