thanks alabamaman, feels good that my rig inspired you to post your second post in two years!! TwistedXT, probably more than a 2.2 rig would run, but no more than your average super. bought some used stuff, some new stuff, and made most of it from alum. that was just collecting dust at work. Although the rims were my biggest expense, just didn't feel like spending more time at work after making the axles, revese box, tranny mount and other small parts. I do need to blow this thing apart to lighten up the alum. bits though. it is a servo bustin, battery killin, motor fryin 15lb. beast. |

Well, I broke a brazed joint on a nasty fall, so I decided to make some changes while I had it torn apart. I wasn't real happy with the looks of it so I am changing the frame to look more like a real truck than a jungle gym, adding body panels, strengthening the lower link mounting points, reducing some weight, and changing the color scheme. some pics of progress so far. |

Milled the tranny mount out to reduce some weight, and made a plate for the reverse box out of delrin to take the place of the steel plate. total weight saving's = 4oz. |

Just one question.... I read this whole thread and still wonder. Why do you need a reverse gear box? You are running an E-maxx trans which takes care of reverse. I am just not sure I understand your trans configuration.

not a reverse gear box... but a second box to reverse the rear shaft... takes care of torque twist.
