I would say no... I snapped them with maxx size tires... snapping CVD's has alot to do with weight, how you wheel and what brand they are. |

I think weight definetally played a role. Also I discovered that a bearing in the knucle was trashed. When I designed the axles I was allready pushing the cvd pretty close too bind, and all the slop from a bad bearing might have pushed her over the edge.

Returned your PM, Also consider if you are interested in spring steel , as I have used that for some universals. DO you think that your angle of the axles is to severe that , that is what causing you to rip bearings more then usual? |

Probably doesn't help any. This was my first build, and I thought a lot of center diff clearance would be a big advantage. Maybe if the driver would learn to recognize a bad hang-up it would help a lot . The truck is 15lb. and has plenty of power, something's gotta give. |

Assuming you used a CNC, What would it take to get a copy of the DXF files? Quote:

Extremely nice rig. You said it weighs 15lbs right? You also said it has a lot of power. It looks like your not running foams too right? I think the reason your breaking the shafts is a combination of the weight of the vehicle and the traction of the tires(they look pretty squished down in some of the pics). Also moab xl's with aluminum rims is a lot to turn. Still, I want that rig |

I was running star cut foams, I now have full foams. I like the full foams better. I think the axle design lets the wheel drop into holes and cracks, that a strait axle would bottom out on, that really can bind a wheel and of course you try to get free and welll, something breaks. I set my slipper up now to slip a little before she stalls, hopefully that will keep me out of trouble. |

Very nice fab work.. truck looks great The bumpers look like upside down versions of the DG bumpers I had on my quad 15lb. rigs will break alot of parts. Specially with power/torque. The best advice, is what you have already done. Loosen up the slipper clutch some. |

I don't make tube chassis for sale. There are guys on here that do. If you can't find one, I can put you in touch with a guy in our club who does. | |
