Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. Went for a ride in the backyard with the Hummer today, and as you know I cant drive a single meter without taking a lot of pictures.. Today was no exception :D https://i.imgur.com/pr6KdCd.jpg https://i.imgur.com/KSVtxKn.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wcpdfl0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/u9qGdwi.jpg https://i.imgur.com/iWS4dLL.jpg |

Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. Also there's something to me about autumn foliage and red barns. Makes for some great photos... either as a background or subject. Jealous of you guys that actually get to experience fall. Summer slams into winter here.. and then spring and fall just meander arbitrarily lol. |
Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. Yeah, on pictures it looks very good with all those colors, and it gives us a heads-up on that we need to get things sorted out before the snow comes in and cover all the sh*t you got lying around.. :) This last week we've had a very hot week, I've never had 25 degrees celsius in october before, so thats a new experience.. |
Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. Awesome photography of a one of a kind build. Very unique Defender. Not sure Id have the courage to cut mine up. Youve done amazing work on it too. Keep it coming! |

But I have a clear Defender body in the shed if this one goes south.. :D What did you think about the Hummer? |
Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. Did wipe off som dust of the Defender yesterday and had a blast with a friend of mine with a Bronco. OMG I love this truck, and the Proline SuperSwamper tires performed way over my expectations.. Hope you enjoy the film, I also got some pictures coming :) https://youtu.be/IuEkgK2j6wA |

Yeah, it's truly beautiful around here. And this isn't even one of the attractive places to go, but for scale/crawling it's just perfect :) |

Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. I guess I'm a bit more lucky than you then, around here I dont need to walk 5mins to get to good grounds. BTW: I've reuploaded the film, the only difference is that this time I added a few comments(text). Would you be kind and watch that one too and check how you like it best, with or without the commentarys? Here's the link: https://youtu.be/hvDtqVKZtxI Edit: Ah, crap.. I forgot to edit the two first texts, they look very... not good.. Sorry for that..! |
Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. Tiny update, but I think this might actually do much about the performance on the Defender. Not that I'm not impressed allready by its performance, but I guess this will make it even better..! So I got this brass mount for the front servo a loooong time ago, but I've never gotten to move the servo to the mount.. And after watching a buddy doing that I wasn't sure if it was worth the struggle.. So I've just left it there.. But there is a lot of empty real estate just housing air there, isn't it..? https://i.imgur.com/3Y6VZch.jpg So I sat down one evening with Fusion 360 and the calipper making some drawings.. And as the drawing came together I decided to make it real, so here you go. 625gr of brass! :D https://i.imgur.com/NVMRd0r.jpg I guess I could've made it even quite a bit bigger also, but this just fits perfect right there! https://i.imgur.com/N8NuHQ6.jpg Pleeeenty of room!! :D https://i.imgur.com/4ilsJkv.jpg So what do you think, will it make a big difference? |
Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. Even with the weight being sprung I think you will see a big performance increase on your climbing ability. Side hill and descents will take a hit. There is always a trade off. I had a bunch of steel plates I made up to sit where your mount is on my truck when I first got it and it was a world of difference. I ended up buying a mount like yours and I did move my servo onto it. It was easy as pie, especially after I flipped the receiver box so I didn't need to get an extension. Just had to reverse the steering throw on the transmitter once all was said and done. |
Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. Without testing it yet, I guess it may be a little too much weight. But thats the beauty of this, I can just drill holes in the brass until I reach a level of weight that feels right.. :) And I will of course drill holes in the top to start with to keep as much weight as I want down low. |
Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. So I'm waiting for this to arrive.. I wonder what I can make out of this.. https://i.imgur.com/JeqjLRo.jpg |
Re: SiCkPuPPy's TRX-4 with a Hummer H1-body. Sweet! I told my wife i needed one. She laughed n asked wat for. I told her i could print off parts i need n she laughed n shook her head. Lmbo Sent from my SM-J327VPP using Tapatalk |
Re: sickpuppys TRX-4's life up north.. I had the same discussion with my wife, but I told her that first of all I can design and make her a cup-holder that fits her needs for her car, and the other thing I showed her was this: https://i.imgur.com/ciSnrpw.jpg She was laughing so hard, and she said "I hope you can make it a lot bigger, cos' you're the cameraguy here..!".. |
