Default Full lock, Missing power to the wheels

Just finished my kit build. On full lock I seem to be missing power to the front wheels now and again. It is as if something is not engaging. Only on full lock goes forward and back perfect when turning lightly.

Have put away until I know where best to look without stripping it to bits.

I have added a power hd 23kg servo and traxxas metal servo horn.

It looks to me that you need to turn down the dual rate, it looks like the CV joints are going too far and binding.

How about dismantle the front axle and double check everything?

Check the endpoints of the steering and set them correct would be my first step.

I have not set anything on the servo, I literally just installed it and went and used it so is it a case of the servo is pulling the wheels further then they are designed?

Hard to tell from the video but it looks like your hub carriers are on the wrong sides.

Yes, you are binding your CVD. Do this, turn your truck over again on its back and adjust your end points for channel one on your radio. Give it throttle and turn your steering until you see it start to bind, adjust your end point for the right turn until at full turn on your steering wheel and you see it stop binding, and then do the same to the left. Looks to me like if you do that you should be good to run with no damage!!!
Hope that helps?

Ernie

Easy fix, like every one else suggested all you need to do is program your steering End Points. The servo is pushing the knuckles beyond what the cv joints can handle and causing a bind.

I cant remember if the kit instructions included the radio programming in it.
See page 34 of the RTR manual for instructions on how to set the End Points

I prefer a shorter servo arm over end point adjustment.

What brand of servo? Make sure its quality. Also, make sure your servo horn is long enough so that the servo isn't reaching its absolute limits to push to full lock. To test this theory, first try longer horn, or before you do you can reduce throw with your controller. You should also be using a bec and slow down your servo speed rate, you dont need nor want full speed of servo. You could also try a glitch buster before going to bec. Depending on your esc, you can increase voltage to servo, min. 6v up to 7.4v.. Hopefully you have good bearings and CVD'S, I'm assuming you do and you've already filed out binding. Good luck.

That works too, plus it has the added advantage of increasing the torque delivered to the steering.
