You could drop to 9t pinion and get a 3s lipo to make up for the loss in wheel speed. By going that route you’ll also gain some torque and get cooler running motor temps especially since you’re running 2.2’s.
Ok, cool. With a 9t pinion, could I still run my 2s? Both of my batteries are 2s

Will I have to do any soldering on the hobbywing 1080? I don’t have a soldering iron.

The only Holmes hobbies motor they have in stock is the 27t Trail master and the 13t crawlmaster. But they don’t have the motor plugs. So how do they connect without soldering?

And it will plug right in to the hobbywing, right? Sorry for all the questions, I’m a newbie and have never upgraded to a hobbywing or bigger motor. So I just want o be sure it will work before I order it.

Sweet! Should I get fans for the motor and/or ESC? Also, what does the turn mean on a motor?

So it definitely needs soldering. I’m just going to stick with the XL-5 until it needs to be replaced.
