Default Transmission loud

So I recently took me transmission apart to check for water, since I submerged my truck. There was only slight moisture inside. I took a Qtip dabbed up the water and added new Vanquish Rc Rock Lube grease. Now my transmission makes a loud humming noise. Any ideas?
Spins freely by hand. Only a slight drag from the grease.

Following. My trans makes a sound too, but it’s a little rough to spin by hand.

Check if you overtightened the screws of the trans. Maybe that's the issue.

Never thought of that. I’ll give it a try

Just tore it all apart. Degreased everything. Cleaned and re oiled the bearings. Reassembled only using a light coat of grease just on the gears. It’s quieter, not as quiet as before. I’m going to run it and see if it quiets down once the grease has dispersed.

i had to replace the trans case in my capra and it was luder than before. turns out there were two very small pieces of grit that got in the teeth of one of the gears. i needed a hobby knife to get them out. Its a shame to have to take it apart again, but it may be worth it.
