I pulled the trigger. I've been out of the crawler scene for a little while. This kit pulled me back in. FoMo.... Indeed...

I have the original version with the weird touch pad for scrolling through the menu. It kinda sucks in that it is awkward to use. Spektrum updated that feature so you should be fine. It’s a decent radio otherwise. I really like the solid feel of it. It’s less fragile feeling than the previous dx4 model.

I’m picking one up soon. Worked out a trade + cash deal with one of the guys at the lhs. Can’t wait for it to come in!

I may be the odd man out here, but I plan seeing if I can fit my VS 410 Pro Bronco body on this one.

It's worth a try, no reason not to.

I am thinking PS-56 Mustard Yellow for the primary color on the stock body, white roof.

Any ideas on an accent side stripe type color? Thinking maybe blue, but not sure yet. I may matte spray the exterior as well. I think Traxxas has a clear matte and am really loving the Traxxas paints as well.

I really really dislike this kit because I really really don't need another rig to build. But I WANT it!

Without the wheels, tires and body that is.

I have been kicking around a pearl candy lime green tint over a fade from white to bright yellow, going for some kind of ice cream look. For some reason green and yellow pop for me on this.

If I stay with the OEM body, I would love to find a tailgate so I can install a real wood bed, just for grins. I already have my "performance" crawlers, time for something fun and casual.

That should be interesting on the color choices. We'll be looking forward to seeing that. Honestly I think this kit is going to produce a lot of cool builds.

I would also agree that this is probably not geared to be that ultra performance competition truck. I do think that this will probably be kind of your ultimate trail and fun crawling truck. I'm not sure I really want to be in the comp scene except for casually but I have been toying around with building a more comp style truck with custom chassis etc.

The tracking link in my confirmation email said I'd get mine today... Just got home to no packages. Now it says Monday. Sounded a little too good to be true.

I'm getting one as soon as they come in to my LHS next week. What electronics are people going with? I'm thinking of getting a Copperhead/Puller Pro 2700k combo.

That'll be a fun combo for sure.

I've got a spare mamba / castle 2850kv combo, but I'll probably use a lower kv motor than that.

I think the 2850 would be great in there. Assuming the trans is geared like the original vfd, it being portal axle will give it an extra low final drive ratio. Even on 4s I think you’d be happy.

I receive mine today. Probably won't get started on it until tomorrow. I've got to finish up my MST DC1 build that I'm working on right now. As you can probably guess... I'm behind on my RCC posts again.

You're right. I should have mentioned I'm using D44's, 1.55's and a different body to make something a little more class 1-ish. I may not even use the chassis. I haven't fully thought it through yet.

I hope the VFD gearing is the same as the original... I didn't even think about that until you said something!

I got one today from my LHS! I'm going to put an Axe R2 2100kv system in it.

Yup, I am going with the Copperhead 2850 combo primarily on 3s. My 4s batteries are all larger than I care to run in this but I may try one just to see.

@Neilo68 I think that color will look awesome, I was eyeing a darker green as well but all my trucks are darker so I figured I would change it up a little on this one.
