A few notes on the build so far. Some of these are going to seem like no-brainers, but newer people might miss this stuff: 1-Pay attention to the numbered circles, there’s a few places where this will mess you up if you’re not paying attention. 2-I’m not sure why they put the motor installation here, there’s no way in hell you’re going to get the gear mesh right until you build the main transmission so the back of the input shaft is supported at both ends. I’d either install it loosely and set the mesh later, or just install the motor right before you bolt the trans into the chassis. 3-The instructions don’t show you when to install this e-clip, it just pops into the picture at this step. 4-Rear axle tubes are the same size, I think this just got copy/pasted from the previous, step. I’m only up to bag D, I’ll update if anything else catches my eye… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by JSterrett; 10-24-2021 at 10:09 PM. |

I don’t have one yet, but my buddy is building his kit and is asking me about some shims. Anyone have any feedback on that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Probably the pinion shims in the axle bags. They weren’t necessary in mine (tried one shim and it was too tight) but maybe they included them since these are molded axles and might have some variation in dimensions… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So, the shock collars are a huge pain in the ass also. Not sure if it’s the super mushy plastic are the vague entrance to the threads on the shock body, but be very careful assembling them. I now have two ruined shock collars to go with my missing stub axle… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Order placed for the new VP Phoenix! I was trying to hold out on buying one for now, but I failed!! Can't wait to get this one built! @JSterrett - That's a bummer about the stub shafts! Hopefully you can get the replacements quickly! VP is usually pretty good about taking care of their customers. |

I received my kit yesterday and had the same issue with the rear axle. I had one front and one rear in the bag. Waiting on a response from. Vanquish

I hope that VP release a machined straight axled version of this truck, if they do then I will definitely get one. Looking forward to seeing everyone's builds.

for info. if you have any Gmade RSD shocks, the upper spring collars are the same size/thread, and thread on much more easily.

I made a quick little tool last night to help with the collars. Makes it much easier to keep them straight and level. Mine are already toast, but maybe this can help others avoid this issue… https://www.myminifactory.com/object...ll-tool-191502 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So somewhere between 6.2 and 8.7% ABV I pulled the trigger on this most reasonably priced vanquish offering. Anyone know if a HW Fusion will fit in there?

Not without modification. Some people have gotten them in there by removing the rear cover from the motor and trimming the transmission case slightly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
